Rejoice

“Thus the victory that day was turned into mourning for all the people, for the people heard it said that day that the king was grieving for his son.”
2 Samuel 19:3 CJB

Be careful of turning our victories into grief! The LORD gives us victories every day, He gives us breath, food, shelter and salvation, so don’t complain! Don’t turn victory into mourning!

“This is the day Adonai has made, a day for us to rejoice and be glad.”
Psalm 118:24 CJB

We may have situations going on around us that are uncomfortable, some of our own making and some out of our control! No matter what, let’s just rejoice, because we have victory in the LORD.

“Rejoice in union with the LORD always! I will say it again: rejoice!”
Philippians 4:4 CJB

Today, don’t look at our situation, but instead look to the LORD!
Have a blessed day rejoicing and not complaining!

Don’t rush to be first!

“I don’t care-whatever happens, I want to run. So he said to him, Run. Then Achima’atz ran by the road through the desert flats and outran the Ethiopian.”
2 Samuel 18:23 CJB

Here we see this man saying he wanted to run. In reality, he wanted to be the first to give David the news! Problem is, it was not the complete story!

“I am your servant; give me understanding, so that I can know You’re instruction.”
Psalm 119:125 CJB

“But refuse godless bubbe-meises (old wives fables), and exercise yourself in godliness.”
1 Timothy 4:7 CJB

We also need to be careful of sharing things when we don’t have all the facts. We need to know the whole story, not just part of it! To be a good servant, understand and know what you’re sharing!

Today, with all the fake news and untrue social media hype out there, we need to be careful of spreading rumors! Have a blessed day making sure things are true!

The LORD has need

“Avashalom and all the men of Israel said, The advice of Hushai the Arki is better than the advice of Achitofel-for Adonai had determined to frustrate the good advice of Achitofel, so that Adonai could bring disaster on Avshalom.”
2 Samuel 17:14 CJB

We at, times, like David, ask the LORD why is this happening to us! Remember, David is fleeing from his son Absalom here and feeling stuck. We, too, can feel like we are being chased and stuck at times.
Know that the LORD has a plan!

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways, says Adonai.”
Isaiah 55:8 CJB

Realize, in every situation we may be going through, the LORD has a purpose for us! All we have to know is the LORD has need!

“If anyone asks why you are untying it, tell him, The LORD needs it.”
Luke 19:31 CJB

So don’t fret about your situation or what you’re going through, just remember the LORD has a purpose for it! He will get you through, the LORD needs it!
Have a blessed day!

Be kind

“Avishai the son of Tz’ruyah said to the king, Why allow this dead dog to curse my LORD the king? Just let me go over and remove his head!”
2 Samuel 16:9 CJB

Often times, we feel like when someone says something negative or mean toward us, we have to defend ourselves! Realize, we don’t have to remove anyone’s head!

“Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”
Luke 6:28 CJB

It’s always easier for us to defend ourselves, explaining our positions, but it will always be harder to pray for and bless those who are against us!

“Whenever I pray for all of you I always pray with joy.”
Philippians 1:4 CJB

Today, let’s not take off heads, but instead lift up heads in prayer! Let’s be kind and pray for those who rub us the wrong way!
May your day be blessed!

Shine

“You are to order the people of Israel to bring you pure oil of pounded olives for the light, and to keep a lamp burning continually.”
Exodus 27:20 CJB

Life can be dark from time to time, but as believers, we need to keep our lights shining! We need to be careful of being dim bulbs!

“In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they may see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16 CJB

There are all kinds of dark things happening around us that can affect our light! What we need to do is spend more time with the LORD, filling our lamps so we can shine for Him!

“Your words are a doorway that lets in light, giving understanding to the thoughtless.”
Psalm 119:130 CJB

Today, we need to keep our lamps burning by pouring the oil of the word of God into our lamps. Then we need to shine as bright as possible in the world around us!
Have a blessed day!
Shabbat Shalom!
