Remove what stumbles you

“In time, when Israel had grown strong, they did put the Kena’ ani (Canaanites) to forced labor but failed to drive them out completely.”

Judges 1:28 CJB

The same goes for us. If we don’t drive out the things in our lives that stumble us, we will always stumble back into sin!

“Eliyahu stepped forward before all the people and said, How long are you going to jump back and forth between two positions? If Adonai is God, follow Him; but if it’s Ba’al, follow him! The people answered not a word.”

1 Kings 18:21 CJB

Often times, this is where we can be faltering between two opinions or not completely removing the things that lead us to stumbling. We hold onto unnecessary things.

“Keep deceitful ways far from me, and favor me with Your Torah (instruction).”

Psalm 119:29 CJB

We all have something that distracts us or gets in the way of serving the LORD! Today, let’s pray and make a effort to get rid of the things that distract us! Have a blessed day in Him!

Look to the LORD

“Return, Israel, to Adonai your God, for your guilt has made you stumble.”

Hosea 14:2 CJB

Most of our problems are created by us! It’s our pride, our arrogance and our disobedience to the LORD that usually gets us into trouble! With that said, we also need to remember the LORD is always right there!

“I will heal their disloyalty, I will love them freely; for my anger has turned from him.”

Hosea 14:5 CJB

The LORD is always waiting to forgive and heal us, it’s up to us to call on Him and repent!

“Let the wise understand these things, and let the discerning know them. For the ways of Adonai are straight, And the righteous walk in them, but in them sinners stumble.”

Hosea 14:10 CJB

Today, know that we may blow it from time to time, but remember when we do, we have a LORD who forgives and shows us the right way to walk. Have a blessed day!

Seek truth

“Still, I am Adonai your God, from the land of Egypt; and you don’t know any God but Me or, other than Me, and Savior.”

Hosea 13:4 CJB

In other words, no matter how hard you try to work out your own plans or think you have it all under control, realize the LORD is still in control of all things and has it all worked out!

“Yeshua said, I am the way-and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6 CJB

Don’t get caught up in foolish worldly traps of politicians, entertainers or public speakers. They are all full of lies and deceit! There is only one Savior, Jesus, who is full of truth and life!

“Since it is written in the Tanakh, As I live, says Adonai, every knee will bend before Me, and every tongue will publicly acknowledge God.”

Romans 14:11 CJB also Isaiah 45:23

Today, don’t get distracted or caught up in worldly junk, seek the LORD instead!

Have a blessed day!

The LORD rescues

“Please! Rescue me from my brother ‘Esav! I’m afraid of him, afraid he’ll come and attack me, without regard for mothers or children.”

Genesis 32:12 CJB

Here we see Jacob, really being honest about his fear and unworthiness. Even though he is trying to appease his brother, knowing deep down it will fail without the LORD!

“Call on Me when you are in trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me.”

Psalm 50:15 CJB

Don’t try to take care of your problems first, instead call on the LORD, seek His will and direction in any situation!

“On the day of my trouble I am calling on You, for You will answer me.”

Psalm 86:7 CJB

We all go through desperate situations from time to time! The first thing we need to do is call on the LORD! Don’t rely on our own understanding, because it usually makes the situation worse.

Have a blessed day!

Shabbat Shalom

Cling to the LORD

“Adonai Elohei-Tzva’ot; is His name! So you, return to your God; hold fast to grace and justice; and always put your hope in God.”

Hosea 12:6-7 CJB

We can be so distracted by the things going on around us: the climate, politics and health issues, but what we need to do is hold onto the LORD!

“You are to follow Adonai your God, fear Him, obey His mitzvoth (commands), listen to what He says, serve Him and cling to Him.”

Deuteronomy 13:5 CJB

The LORD doesn’t give us commands to be mean or to burden us! Why does He give us commands? Because He knows what is best for us, He knows the best ways for us to walk and He loves us!

“Come close to God, and He will come close to you. Clean your hands, sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded people!”

James 4:8 CJB

Today, don’t second guess God, just do what He says and trust His word! Have a blessed day in Him!

Shabbat Shalom!
