Don’t be jealous

“His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.”
Genesis 37:11 CJB

Even though God used all this hatred and jealousy for His bigger plan for Joseph and his family, we still need to be careful of hatred and jealousy in our lives!

“For jealousy drives a man into rage; he will show no mercy when he takes revenge.”
Proverbs 6:34 CJB

Sadly, this is so true. We can be jealous or even envious of someone and it will always end in anger and rage! We need to be more like the LORD, who loves everyone the same!

“those who do not love, do not know God; because God is love.”
1 John 4:8 CJB

Today, be careful of hate, anger and jealousy, because they will destroy you! Instead let’s be like the LORD, who is love, and really try loving each other!
Have a blessed day loving God and others!

Try a new direction

“For their possessions had become too great for them to live together, and the countryside through which they were traveling couldn’t support so much livestock.”
Genesis 36:7 CJB

Sometimes we need to just give people space, we all need to know when it’s time to move on! Ministry can get even get cramped from time to time!

“The seventy came back jubilant. Lord, they said, with your power, even the demons submit to us!”
Luke 10:17 CJB

When Yeshua sent out the seventy they were two by two, they were sent in different directions! This way more ground can be covered and more people can be reached for the LORD!

“But you are a chosen people, the king’s cohanim, a holy people of God to possess! Why? in order to declare praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”
1 Peter 2″9 CJB

Today, realize the LORD will separate us so we can cover more ground and reach more people! If you feel like you’re being overcrowded, then may be it’s time to step out into some new terrain!
Have a blessed day reaching as many people as you can for the LORD!

Get rid of it

“Then Ya`akov said to his household and all the others with him, Get rid of the foreign gods that you have with you, purify yourselves, and put on fresh clothes.”
Genesis 35:2 CJB

What a good word for us too, get rid of the foreign gods that mess up our daily walk with Adonai! Understand, we all have them such as: games on our phones, news apps, social media, hobbies and sports! We can and do spend more time with them than with the LORD!

“Wash yourselves clean! Get your evil deeds out of My sight!
Stop doing evil!”
Isaiah 1:16 CJB

Yes, the LORD does cleanse us from sins, but we first have to confess them and stop doing them! Also removing the distractions is something we all have to work at!

“Wash me completely from my guilt, and cleanse me from my sin.”
Psalm 51:4 CJB

When we honestly bring our sins and distractions before the LORD, know that He will remove them and cleanse us from them! Don’t fall into the trap that you can hold onto one little thing just in case you need it later! Just get rid of it whatever it is!
Have a blessed day!

Be on guard

“One time Dinah the daughter of Le’ah, whom she had borne to Ya`akov, went out to visit the local girls.”
Genesis 34:1 CJB

Dinah’s choice to mingle with the local girls turns out to be a disaster! The result of hanging out with the worldly girls is she gets raped! These things happen to us when we desire to be part of worldliness. It usually ends up in disaster! One bad decision usually leads to another as we will see here.

“Only on this condition will we consent to what you are asking: that you become like us by having every male among you get circumcised. Then we’ll give our daughters to you, and we’ll take your daughters for ourselves, and we’ll live with you and become one people.”
Genesis 34:15-16 CJB

As this story goes the unbelieving Sh’khem (Shechem the unbeliever) decides he really likes Dinah (the believer) and wants to marry her! By doing this they’ll all become one people and live in peace and harmony! This usually never works out! People go through the ritual of being a believer (getting circumcised here) but don’t really mean it! Then once they get what they want, they leave, moving on to shinier things!

“If we claim to have fellowship with Him while we are walking in the darkness, we are lying and not living out the truth.”
1 John 1:6 CJB

Today, we all need to be on guard of mingling in the world. It may seem harmless at first, but it can turn and bite you! Look what happened here: rape, then deceit and then murder! We need to be on guard with worldly people and stick with the LORD and have fellowship with His people!
May your day be richly blessed!

God works everything out!

Here it is: there will be seven years of abundance throughout the whole land of Egypt; but afterwards, there will come seven years of famine; and Egypt will forget all the abundance. The famine will consume the land, and the abundance will not be known in the land because of the famine that will follow, because it will be utterly terrible.”
Genesis 41:29-31 CJB

Good or bad in this life everything comes to and end and then something new begins! We see here seven years of abundance and seven years of famine which both came to and end! Same goes for our situations also!

“Futhermore, we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called in accordance with His purpose.”
Romans 8:28 CJB

Even the things in life that we deem bad like famine, God will always turn to something perfect! In that it gives us a great testimony to share how great He is!

“How great are Your deeds, Adonai! How very deep Your thoughts!”
Psalm 92:5 CJB

Today, don’t get all caught up in the events of the world, because no matter how bad they may be, God has a perfect plan! Know that all things come to an end and God uses that to start something new and beautiful!
Have a blessed day using every situation to glorify the LORD!
Shabbat Shalom!
