Confess

We’re all the sons of one man, we’re upright men; your servants aren’t spies.”
Genesis 42:11 CJB

The brothers are not exactly being honest here! Yes: they are the sons of one man, Yes: they aren’t spies, but upright? Not so much!

“But if you will not do this, then you have sinned against Adonai, and you must understand that your sin will find you out.”
Numbers 32:23 CJB

Here we see the brothers sins catching up with them, as sin always does! The example here for us is it’s better to confess, repent and watch how the LORD heals us!

“Then, if My people, who bear My name, will humble themselves, pray, seek My face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 CJB

Today, be careful of letting sins grow in your life, because no matter how big or small, they will eventually catch up with you!
Have a blessed day, knowing when we confess He forgives!

He provides

“The seven years of abundance in the land of Egypt ended; and the seven years of famine began to come, just as Yosef had said. There was famine in all lands, but throughout the land of Egypt there was food.”
Genesis 41:53-54 CJB

There really is so much we can unpack in these verses, but we’ll stick with two thoughts here! First understand everything comes to and end! Our times of abundance and our times of famine!

“For everything there is a season, a right time for every intention under heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1 CJB

Ecclesiastes goes on to explain there is a time for everything to start and to end! The second point to see here is no matter how dire things may seem in every situation, God provides! We may not have everything we think we need or want, but God provides what we really need!

“Adonai will guide you; He will satisfy your needs in the desert, He will renew the strength in your limbs; so that you will be like a watered garden, like a spring whose water never fails.”
Isaiah 58:11 CJB

We all have easy seasons and difficult seasons in life, but when we look to the LORD, realize, He always provides exactly what we need!
May your day be richly blessed in Him!

Serve the LORD in everything

“The captain of the guard charged Yosef to be with them, and he became their attendant while they remain in prison.”
Genesis 40:4 CJB

Often times we may feel we have meaningless jobs. We go to work eight hours, clean houses and watch kids or just do chores and school! Here Joseph is told to watch two high profile prisoners, a seemingly meaningless task!

“Serve Adonai with gladness. Enter His presence with joyful songs.”
Psalm 100:2 CJB

Really, the secret to Joseph’s success is exactly that he did everything unto the LORD. He wasn’t serving man, he was serving God!

“Whatever work you do, put yourself into serving not merely other people, but the LORD.”
Colossians 3:23 CJB

Today, always keep in mind everything we do, no matter how prestigious or how demeaning, we are totally serving the LORD!
Have a blessed day knowing it’s all about serving Him!

The LORD is near

“So it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, lord of all his household and ruler over the whole land of Egypt.”
Genesis 45:8 CJB

The situations that we all face in life may seem overwhelming to us, even to the point were we want to just give up! We may even believe God isn’t listening to us or even hears us!

“I cry aloud to God, aloud to God; and He hears me.”
Psalm 77:1 CJB

The LORD hears and knows our situations and is working everything out in His perfect way!

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways, says Adonai.”
Isaiah 55:8 CJB

Today, even though we may feel like the LORD doesn’t hear us or isn’t working anything out! Know this: He is allowing all situations to happen so He can draw us nearer to Him!
Have a blessed day!
Shabbat Shalom!

Seek Shalom

“His master saw how Adonai was with him, Adonai prospered everything he did.”
Genesis 39:3 CJB

One of the main reasons Joseph was prosperous was because he kept his eyes upon the LORD and did his tasks as unto the LORD!

“Whatever work you do, put yourself into it, as those who are serving not merely other people, but the LORD.”
Colossians 3:23 CJB

Every situation we are in good or bad, that also means bad jobs with bad bosses! Remember, we aren’t working for people, but we are working for the LORD!

“May Adonai give strength to His people! May Adonai bless His people with shalom!”
Psalm 29:11 CJB

Today, the best way to be blessed and have shalom is to do all things unto the LORD! Even in our difficult situations we will find shalom!
Have a blessed day!
Shabbat Shalom!
