Shalom

“If you purchase a Hebrew slave, he is to work six years; but in the seventh, he is to be given his freedom without having to pay anything.”
Exodus 21:2 CJB

There is so much we can unpack here, but we will look at a couple of things! One of the first things God deals with is slavery. Remember, they just spent 400 years in it! God doesn’t want slaves, He wants us to treat each other well and to be free!

“You have six days to labor and do all your work.”
Exodus 20:9 CJB

The number six is really significant here: six days work and then rest, six years work and then be set free, we see six thousand years then that day Adonai calls us home to be with Him for all eternity!

“Moreover, dear friends, do not ignore this: with the LORD, one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day.”
2 Peter 3:8 CJB

It seems throughout scripture rest and peace come on the seventh day or year and God says what He means and means what He says!

“The LORD is not slow in keeping His promise, as some people think of slowness; on the contrary, He is patient with you; for it is not His purpose that anyone should be destroyed, but everyone should turn from his sins.”
2 Peter 3:9 CJB

Today, let’s really look forward to that free gift of eternity with God and share that Good News with others!
Have a blessed day!
Shabbat Shalom!

Look to Adonai

“You are to have no other gods before Me.”
Exodus 20:3 CJB

What do you let stand before you and God? Is it a disease, government or a job? Is it health, wealth or even poverty? Do we let things get in our way?

“Pray that Adonai your God will tell us what direction to take and what to do.”
Jeremiah 42:3 CJB

Our first go to should always be Adonai and look to Him for direction and what to do!

“He told him, You are to love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.”
Matthew 22:37 CJB

Today, we may have issues and difficulties. What we need to do is love Adonai, pray and look to Him for everything!
Have a blessed day in Him!

Chosen

“Now if you will pay careful attention to what I say and keep my covenant, then you will be my own treasure from among all the peoples, for all the earth is mine.”
Exodus 19:5 CJB

Adonai really desires us to focus and pay attention to Him! He wants us to hear Him and do what He says!

“And you will be a kingdom of cohanim (priests) for Me, a nation set apart. These are the words you are to speak to the people of Israel.”
Exodus 19:6 CJB

God still desires us to be set apart and separate from the world. We are to be His special cohanim to speak to the people around us about Him!

“But you are a chosen people, the King’s cohanim, a holy nation, a people for God to possess! Why? In order for you to declare the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”
1 Peter 2:9 CJB

Today, let’s be all about sharing His wonderful news of salvation in this dark world!
Have a blessed day in Him!

Give God the glory

“Yitro (Jethro) rejoiced over all the good that Adonai had done for Israel by rescuing them from the Egyptians.”
Exodus 18:9 CJB

Remember, Yitro was not a believer, but he couldn’t deny that the God of Israel did a great work! Same goes for us when God does miracles in our life. The unbelievers can’t deny it either!

“Yitro said, Blessed be Adonai, who has rescued you from the Egyptians and from Pharaoh, who has rescued the people from harsh hand of the EGYPTIANS.”
Exodus 18:10 CJB

So for us, we need to just keep rejoicing and giving God all the glory for everything! It’s hard for people to deny the glory of God!

“Now I know that Adonai is greater than all other gods, because he rescued those who were treated so arrogantly.”
Exodus 18:11 CJB

Today, even when the world treats us poorly, let’s be like Yitro, the unbeliever, who still gave God all glory and credit due His name!
Have a blessed day in Him!

Pray

“Moshe cried out to Adonai, What am I to do with these people? They’re ready to stone me!”
Exodus 17:4 CJB

We can feel just like Moshe, Adonai what am I going to do with these coworkers, neighbors and evil leaders who are ready to stone me, so to speak! The answer is: Nothing, the battle belongs to the LORD!

“Then he (Stephen) kneeled down and shouted out, LORD! Don’t hold this sin against them! with that, he died.”
Acts 7:60 CJB

What do we do? We pray, just like Stephen did. Who, after praying, was actually stoned to death! God has you in His arms all the time!

“When you call to Me and pray to me, I will listen to you.”
Jeremiah 29:12 CJB

Today, you may feel like the world is stoning you, whether physically or verbally, the best thing we can do isn’t throw stones back, but throw prayers instead!
Have a blessed day calling on Adonai!
