Serve

“Therefore say, I am giving him my covenant of shalom, making a covenant with him and his descendants after him that the office of Cohen will be theirs forever. This is because he was zealous on behalf of his God and made atonement for the people of Israel.”

Numbers 25:12-13 CJB

Like Phinehas, we need to step in and do what is right on behalf of other people, dealing with the sin in the camp. We are all called to serve and be servants.

“Serve Adonai with gladness. Enter His presence with joyful songs.”

Psalm 100:2 CJB

If you seem to be lacking joy, look for a place to serve!

“Yes, indeed! I tell you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is an emissary greater than the one who sent him.”

John 13:16 CJB

Jesus came to serve and so should we. The world around us is filled with all kinds of weirdness. We as, believers, need to look for opportunities to step in and serve! Don’t wait for someone else. If you see a need to serve then serve! Have a blessed day.

Stay focused

“He said to them, Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you won’t be put to the test!”

Luke 22:46 CJB

We all need to be careful of this. Are we asleep? It’s easy to be asleep. HOW? We are too busy. We get focused on life, jobs, health and daily situations which steal our focus from being on the LORD!

“For here is what Adonai says to the house of Israel: If you seek me, you will survive.”

Amos 5:4 CJB

Realize, when we are seeking the LORD, staying focused on Him, we have life. We may be tested, tempted and fall into various trials, but when we keep our eyes focused on the LORD, we will always get through!

“For my eyes, Adonai, are on you; in You I take refuge; don’t pour out my life.”

Psalm 141:8 CJB

Today, no matter what may be going on around you don’t fall asleep, keep your eyes on the LORD! Have a blessed day seeking Him!

Glorify the LORD

“An argument arose among them as to which of them should be considered the greatest.”

Luke 22:24 CJB

We all need to be careful of this, thinking we are greater or better than someone else! Realize, it’s the LORD who is the greatest. The LORD came to serve and so should we!

“For Adonai is great, and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared more than all gods.”

1 Chronicles 16:25 CJB

We need to be careful of trying to prop ourselves up or trying to glorify ourselves as if we are greater than anyone else. What we need to do is look for ways to glorify the LORD not ourselves, our position or even our ministry!

“Proclaim with me the greatness of Adonai; let us exalt His name together.”

Psalm 34:3 CJB

Today, let us not talk about ourselves, but instead let’s talk about the LORD, realizing everything we do needs to glorify Him! Have a blessed day sharing how great the LORD is.

Shabbat Shalom.

Drop the distractions

“I will cut off your carved images and standing-stones from among you; no longer will you worship what your own hands have made.”

Micah 5:2 CJB

What a glorious day that will be, the LORD removing all the false and distracting junk from our lives, especially the things we made! The LORD really wants us to worship Him and Him alone, but the world always creeps in!

“Human being, you have already been told what is good, what Adonai demands of you-no more than to act justly, love grace and walk in purity with you God.”

Micah 6:8 CJB

The world around us is filled with distractions and temptations. We need to purpose in our hearts to worship the LORD, making efforts to remove as many distractions as we can!

“Praise Adonai, all you nations! Worship Him, all you peoples.”

Psalm 117:1 CJB

May your day be richly blessed as you look to the LORD and forget the world! Take time throughout the day to spend time with the LORD.

Fill the day with the LORD

“Moshe said to the judges of Israel, Each of you is to put to death those in his tribe who have joined themselves to Ba’al-P’or.”

Numbers 25:5 CJB

We need to be careful of what we allow in, and get rid of anything ungodly (put it to death) that enters in! We need to seek the LORD in everything!

“When you seek Me, you will find Me, provided you seek for Me wholeheartedly.”

Jeremiah 29:13 CJB

It’s easy to remove the junk and sin in our lives when we are seeking the LORD! If we are filling our day with the LORD, there will be no room for the junk! It gets much harder when we allow useless junk in!

“Just one thing have I asked of Adonai; only this will I seek: to live in the house of Adonai all the days of my life, to see the beauty of Adonai and visit in His temple.”

Psalm 27:4 CJB

Today, let’s remove the junk in our lives (put it to death) and seek the LORD and His life-giving ways! Have a blessed day sharing the love and joy of the LORD! The world around us really needs Jesus.
