Heart check

“You are not to pity him. Rather, you must put an end to the shedding of innocent blood in Israel. Then things will go well with you.”

Deuteronomy 19:13 CJB

We can read verses like this and think that the LORD is being harsh or mean, but He really wants us to take sin seriously! As believers, we allow way to much compromise into our lives and I believe the LORD wants us to put and end to it!

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who change darkness into light and light into darkness, who change bitter into sweet and sweet into bitter!”

Isaiah 5:20 CJB

The words of Isaiah are almost three thousand years old and the still ring true today. Society is really backwards, just like Isaiah says: good is evil and evil is good! With this said, we really should take a deep look inside ourselves!

“Examine me, Adonai, test me, search my mind and heart.”

Psalm 26:2

Today, let’s really have a heart check and remove the things that harm us! Have a blessed day looking to the LORD!

Follow the LORD

“You must be wholehearted with Adonai your God.”

Deuteronomy 18:13 CJB

No matter what is going on in the world, we must not be distracted by it, but instead follow the LORD wholeheartedly!

“I will thank You, Adonai my God, with my whole heart; and I will glorify your name forever.”

Psalm 86:12 CJB

Life is full of distractions that can and do sidetrack us from staying focused on the LORD! Life happens! What we need to do is in every situation look for the LORD in it, who never leaves us or forsakes us. In fact, He allows uncomfortable situations to happen so we can see Him get us through!

“But Adonai-it is He who will go ahead of you. He will be with you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you, so don’t be afraid or downhearted.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 CJB

As hard or difficult as life can be, remember the LORD is always with us, so let’s follow wholeheartedly after Him! Have a blessed day following after The LORD!

Don’t be bribed

“You are not to distort justice or show favoritism, and you are not to accept a bribe, for a gift blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of even the upright.”

Deuteronomy 16:19 CJB

We all need to be careful of showing favoritism or taking bribes! Don’t be bribed into a false belief and watch out for leaders who show favoritism towards big givers or leaders who chase after the rich to support their ministry (personal agenda)! Leaders who take bribes or show favoritism will always distort the word of God and lead people astray!

“However, his sons did not follow his way of life; they turned off it to pursue riches, so that they would take bribes to distort justice.”

1 Samuel 8:3 CJB

Even Samuel who was a godly man, allowed his sons take over as judges, but riches and bribes led them astray! We all need to stay focused on the LORD, not the glitters of the world which will always lead us astray!

“Whoever acknowledges Me in the presence of others I will also acknowledge in the presence of My Father in heaven.”

Matthew 10:32 CJB

Today, don’t let the world influence us (bribe us) to be blind, distort the truth or be led astray into false beliefs, but instead stay focused on the LORD and seeking His will! Have a blessed day in Him!

Be a good shepherd

“I am the gate; if someone enters through Me, he will be safe and will go in and out and find pasture.”

John 10:9 CJB

We will always be better off when we are living in the LORD’S pasture!

“Adonai is my shepherd; I lack nothing.”

Psalm 23:1 CJB

Know that the LORD is the Good Shepherd and His sheep will always be leading the rest of the flock to Him! With that said, be careful of hired hands that lead to themselves for their own profit and gain! Realize the world is full of them!

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand, since he isn’t a shepherd and the sheep aren’t his own, sees the wolf coming, abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf drags them off and scatters them. The hired worker behaves like this because that’s all he is, a hired worker; so it doesn’t matter to him what happens to the sheep.”

John 10:11-13 CJB

How do you know who are good shepherds? Simple. They stand with you, warn and instruct and always direct you to the LORD! Today, let’s all be good shepherds, pointing and directing people to Jesus! Have a blessed day sharing about the LORD.

Don’t be blind

“He answered, Whether He’s a sinner or not I don’t know. One thing I do know: I was blind, now I see.”

John 9:25 CJB

What an awesome thought here, the man that was once blind doesn’t argue or debate about Jesus. He just simply answers: “I was blind now I see.” Basically he was a mess and now he is clean! Same goes for us, we were lost and now we are saved by the LORD!

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we praise the name of Adonai our God.”

Psalm 20:7 CJB

Don’t trust your intellect or debating skills, but instead, just trust the LORD and people will see His saving grace in your life!

“I want your trust to be in Adonai; this is why I’m instructing you about them today.”

Proverbs 22:19 CJB

So no matter what is going down today, don’t stress about what to do or say, just trust the LORD! Remember, we were all once blind. Today, let’s just keep our eyes on the LORD, who has everything all worked out! Have a blessed day!

Shabbat Shalom!
