Be balanced

“You are not to have in your pack two sets of weights, one heavy, the other light.”

Deuteronomy 25:13 CJB

The LORD desires us to not be unbalanced, not to be unjust or even showing bias! He desires us to be just and fair, not to be doing things to benefit ourselves at the expense of others!

“Human being, you have been told what is good, what Adonai demands of you-no more than to act justly, love grace and walk in purity with your God.”

Micah 6:8 CJB

When we are unbalanced, being heavy handed on some things and light on other things, we can be light on dealing with sinful things in our lives and heavy on sinful things in others’ lives. We need to be careful of using two sets of weights!

“How happy are those who act justly, who always do what is right!”

Psalm 106:3 CJB

Today, let’s be balanced and act justly. Things will always go better for us in the long run! Have a blessed day walking in the LORD’S balanced ways!

Give

“When you gather the grapes from your vineyard, you are not to return and pick grapes a second time; what is left will be for the foreigner, the orphan and the window. Remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt. That is why I am ordering you do this.”

Deuteronomy 24:21-22 CJB

A couple of questions to think about here: Do we have enough? And do we really need more? Sometimes we forget that the LORD saved us from a life of slavery in sin and this is a reminder to not overlook those who are still slaves!

“He who is kind to the poor is lending to Adonai; and He will repay him for his good deed.”

Proverbs 19:17 CJB

The LORD gives to us freely, so we should freely give. Remember, we can’t out-give the LORD! Honestly, we probably have enough and really don’t need more.

“In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they may see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.”

Matthew 5:16 CJB

Today, let us remember there is always someone in worse shape than you or I, so let’s be mindful and giving so we can glorify our father in heaven! Have a blessed day!

Be on guard

“When you are in camp, at war with your enemies, you are to guard yourself against anything bad.”

Deuteronomy 23:10 CJB

We are always at war with our enemies of sin and we always need to keep evil out of our camp. It is a constant battle and we always need to be on guard!

“Stay alert! Be on your guard! For you do not know when the time will come.”

Mark 13:33 CJB

Don’t be caught off guard by watching the world, but be on guard by watching the LORD!

“But as for me, I will look to Adonai, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.”

Micah 7:7 CJB

Today, know as a believer we are at war so we need to be on guard and watching for the LORD! Have a blessed day in the LORD the God of our salvation!

Don’t turn your back

“You are not to watch your brother’s ox or sheep straying and behave as if you hadn’t seen it; you must bring it back to your brother.”

Deuteronomy 22:1 CJB

In other words, don’t turn your back on your brother or sister! Don’t fall into the trap that it’s someone else’s job or responsibility. If you see it, hear it or know it, then deal with it! Be in prayer, not in judgment and act on that prayer!

“Evening, morning and noon I will complain and moan; but He hears my voice.”

Psalm 55:17 CJB

Unfortunately, this is what our prayers often sound like, a lot of whining and complaining! The beautiful thing is, our LORD is so gracious He still hears and answers our prayers!

“Adonai, in the morning you will hear my voice; in the morning I lay my needs before you and wait expectantly.”

Psalm 5:3 CJB

One of the best ways to be part of what the LORD is doing is to be active in the things happening around us, seeking, praying and acting upon what the LORD is doing! Have a blessed day in prayer and doing the will of the LORD!

Take account

“Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death; in this way you will put and end to such wickedness among you, and all Israel will hear about it and be afraid.”

Deuteronomy 21:21 CJB

Not saying we should stone anyone, but we need to remove wickedness from our lives! We really need to take account of what we allow into our lives and into our homes!

“I will not allow before my eyes any shameful thing. I hate those who act crookedly; what they do does not attract me.”

Psalm 101:3 CJB

This needs to be our heart, to not put wickedness before us and hate any wicked thing! We need to remove the things that distract us from the LORD!

“Then, if my people, who bear My name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.”

2 Chronicles 7:14 CJB

Today, let’s seek the LORD and His ways, not the world and its sinful ways! Be in prayer about what may be holding you back from serving the LORD. Have a blessed day seeking the LORD and His will for your life!
