Confess

“Then the people of Israel cried to Adonai, We have sinned against You by forsaking our God and serving Ba’ alam.”

Judges 10:10 CJB

When we repent the first thing we need to do is admit that we’ve sinned against the LORD! Then we need to confess our sin!

“A person guilty of any of these things is to confess in what manner he sinned.”

Leviticus 5:5 CJB

We all should spend some time taking a deep look inside ourselves and do some house cleaning, so to speak!

“If we acknowledge our sins, then, since He is trustworthy and just, He will forgive them and purify us from all wrongdoing.”

1 John 1:9 CJB

Today, don’t hold onto things that bind us, instead confess them to the LORD and be freed of them! Have a blessed day in Him!

Shabbat Shalom!

Be content

“Once the trees went out to choose a king to rule them. They said to the olive tree, Rule over us!”

Judges 9:8 CJB

We always need to be careful of who and what rules over us! Not everyone and everything has our best interests in mind!

“But the olive tree replied, Am I supposed to leave my oil, which is used to honor both God and humanity, just to go sway over the trees?”

Judges 9:9 CJB

Like the olive tree, we need to honor God and bless our neighbors with what the LORD gives us! Don’t try to do what the LORD hasn’t given to you to do!

“But the fig tree replied, Am I supposed to leave my sweetness and my good fruit to go and hold sway over the trees?”

Judges 9:11 CJB

The LORD desires us to be sweet to those around us. When we are bitter or sour, it never is a good witness! The LORD desires us to be sweet!

“But the grapevine replied, Am I supposed to leave my wine, which gives cheer to God and humanity, just to go and hold sway over the trees?”

Judges 9:13 CJB

As believers, we are to reflect the joy of the LORD onto those around us!

“The thorn bush replied, If you really make me king over you, then come and take shelter in my shade. But if not, let fire come out of the thorn bush and burn down the leaders of the L’vanon!”

Judges 9:15 CJB

When we realize that the LORD has given us all something to do to glorify Him, we need to do what the LORD says and not try to do things He hasn’t given us! Why? Because we will end up being thorny and burn up people around us! Today, let’s embrace the LORD’S will for our lives and share His love and joy!

God is in control

“Gideon replied, Neither I nor my son will rule over you; Adonai will rule over you.”

Judges 8:23 CJB

Same goes for us. We can’t take credit for what God has done or is doing. It is He alone who rules!

“For Adonai is judge, Adonai is our lawgiver, Adonai is our King. He will save us.”

Isaiah 33:22 CJB

How comforting to know it is the LORD who is in control and has all things covered!

“Adonai has established His throne in heaven; His kingly power rules everything.”

Psalm 103:19 CJB

Have a blessed day knowing the LORD rules and is in control of everything, so put all your hope in Him!

Step out

“That night Adonai said to him, Get up and attack the camp, because I have handed it over to you.”

Judges 7:9 CJB

We should never be reluctant or afraid when the LORD tells us to go out to battle! He’s told us to go into all the world and share the Good News of Salvation.

“Haven’t I ordered you, Be strong, be bold? So don’t be afraid or downhearted, because Adonai your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9 CJB

Every place we step out in faith, realize the LORD is with you and has also gone before you so be bold!

“And pray for me, too, that whenever I open my mouth, the words will be given to me to be bold in making known the secret of the Good News,”

Ephesians 6:19 CJB

Today, let’s step out in faith knowing the LORD has gone before us and be bold in speaking about the Good News of salvation! Have a blessed day in Him.

Check yourself

“But the people of Israel did what was evil from Adonai’s perspective, so Adonai handed them over to Midyan for seven years.”

Judges 6:1 CJB

The idea here is that when we are disobedient, the LORD allows us to be handed over to our sin until we repent!

“But if you will not do this, then you have sinned against Adonai, and you must understand that your sin will find you out.”

Numbers 32:23 CJB

We really can’t get away with our sins or disobedience. It will always find us out and we become slave to it! The key is call out to the LORD, confess and repent!

“Don’t delude yourselves: no one makes a fool of God! A person reaps what he sows.”

Galatians 6:7 CJB

Be careful of thinking you can play with sin or walk in grey areas so to speak! Remember, the LORD see’s all!

“If we acknowledge our sins, then, since He is trustworthy and just, He will forgive them and purify us from all wrongdoing.”

1 John 1:9 CJB

Remember, we all slip and fall from time to time and the good news is the LORD is always ready to forgive when we repent!

Have a blessed day!
