Happy New Year

“He came up and told his father and mother, I saw a woman in Timnah, one of the P’listim. Now get her for me to be my wife.”

Judges 14:2 CJB

We need to be careful of making demands, if you read the rest of this story you can see that Samson’s demands here doesn’t turn out well!

“Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me; still, not My will but Yours be done.”

Luke 22:42 CJB

Even Jesus didn’t make demands for getting His own way, so we also should be careful!

“As high as the sky is above the earth are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Isaiah 55:9 CJB

As we start out a New Year, let’s really look at doing things the LORD’S way, not ours! Let’s make a resolution to just do His will! Let our requests be made known, but let’s also accept His will!

Have a blessed day and a Happy New Year!

Do what the LORD says

“The angel of Adonai said to Manoach, The woman should take care to do everything I said to her.”

Judges 13:13 CJB

The same goes for us, we need to take care and do what the LORD says!

“I treasure your word in my heart, so that I won’t sin against You.”

Psalm 119:11 CJB

When we hear and do what the LORD says, life will always go better! When we do what we want or things our own way, disaster happens!

“Guide me in Your truth, and teach me; for You are the God who saves me, my hope is in You all day long.”

Psalm 25:5 CJB

Today, let’s spend time listening to the LORD and doing what He says! Let’s finish the year with the LORD and start the new one with Him!

Be careful of jealousy

“”When I saw that you weren’t rescuing me, I put my life in my own hands and went over to attack the people of Amon; and Adonai gave them over into my power. So why have you come up today to fight me?’

Judges 12:3 CJB

Here we see Yiftach (Jepthah) calling out Efrayim (Epraim) for not helping and then coming to get part of the victory! What we see here is jealousy and how it can affect the body of believers!

“Do nothing out of rivalry or vanity; but, in humility, regard each other as better than yourselves.”

Philippians 2:3 CJB

As a body of believers, we really need to support and lift each other up, not tear each other down! Often times we can be our own worst enemy!

“Yerushalayim, built as a city fostering friendship and unity.”

Psalm 122:3 CJB

The LORD always desired us all to live in friendship and unity!

“Oh, how good, how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in harmony.”

Psalm 133:1 CJB

Understand we all may have different opinions and likes, but in the LORD we need to be unified and living in harmony with our Savior! Have a blessed day walking with the LORD!

God is light

“You should just keep the territory your god K’mosh has given you; while we, for our part, will hold onto whatever Adonai our God has given us of the lands that belonged to others before us.”

Judges 11:24 CJB

We should always remember everything we have is from the LORD! We didn’t get it from the fake god’s of this world!

“Every good act of giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father who made the heavenly lights; with Him there is neither variation nor darkness caused by turning.”

James 1:17 CJB

Here is the beautiful thing about the LORD, is He is full of light and life! There is no darkness in Him at all, and His desire is to give us everything that is good for us!

“And this is the message which we have heard from Him and proclaim to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in Him-none!”

1 John 1:5 CJB

Today, know that the LORD loves us and desires nothing but the best for us! Knowing this we should have a deep desire to honor Him and walk in His ways! Have a blessed day walking in His light!

Give glory to the LORD

“Yoseph answered Pharaoh,It isn’t me. God will give Pharaoh an answer that will set his mind at peace.”

Genesis 41:16 CJB

Like Joseph, in everything we need to give God the glory!

“Adonai is high above all nations, His glory above the heavens.”

Psalm 113:4 CJB

Our LORD, the creator of the universe, is amazing and everything He does is glorious! Today, let’s reflect his glorious light!

“But you are a chosen people, the King’s cohanim, a holy nation, a people for God to possess! Why? In order for you to declare the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”

1 Peter 2:9 CJB

Today, let’s give God all the glory, let’s praise His holy name and reflect His wonderful light!

Have a blessed day.

Shabbat Shalom!
