Be a servant

“They said to him, If you will start today being a servant to these people—if you will serve them, be responsive to them and give them favorable consideration, then they will be your servants forever.”
1 Kings 12:7 CJB

This is good advice for us all being like the LORD, a servant! Often times we want to be served, it gets harder when we have to serve!

“Among you, it must not be like that. On the contrary, whoever among you wants to be a leader must become your servant and whoever wants to be first must be your slave!”
Matthew 20:26-27 CJB

We may say we want to be like the LORD, a servant! Quick test, how do you feel when you’re treated like a servant? The other thing we must see here is we can’t write off the advice of the older people nor can we reject the enthusiasm of the young! The body of believers needs both!

“Make your face shine on Your servant; in your grace, save me.”
Psalm 31:16 CJB

Today, we will all have opportunities to lead and to serve. Let’s do everything as unto the LORD and glorify Him!
Have a blessed day being servants of the LORD!

The LORD is the answer

“So Adonai grew angry with Shlomo, because his heart had turned away from Adonai, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice.”
1 Kings 11:9 CJB

We see here God gave Solomon everything: vast wealth, wisdom and power! What does he do with it, he marries foreign women and builds pagan altars! Have we done the same?

“You are not to follow other gods, chosen from the gods of the peoples around you.”
Deuteronomy 6:14 CJB

Have we built pagan altars? Sports arenas, concert halls and movie theaters? I’m not saying we can’t participate in these activities, but have they become more important than the LORD?

“Those who worship vain idols give up their source of mercy.”
Jonah 2:9 CJB

Today, let’s be careful of looking to the world for help and entertainment! The government doesn’t have the answer and entertainment isn’t the solution, but the LORD is the answer and the solution!
May your day be blessed as you follow the LORD!

The LORD loves you

“Blessed be Adonai your God, who took pleasure in you on the throne of Israel. Because of Adonai’s eternal love for Israel, he has made you king, to administer judgment and justice fairly.”
1 Kings 10:9 CJB

No matter what may be going on in the world, financial disaster, plagues and pandemics, remember, the LORD loves you and takes pleasure in you!

“He brought me out to an open place; He rescued me, because He took pleasure in me.”
Psalm 18:20 CJB

Believe it or not, the LORD loves us and takes pleasure in us, no matter what we may think! As we see the events going on around us and think boy, they look bad! Remember the LORD has a plan!

“Furthermore, we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called in accordance with His purpose.”
Romans 8:28 CJB

Today, even if things look bleak, remember, the LORD has a perfect plan! So let’s glorify Him today, take pleasure in Him because He takes pleasure in you!
May your day be blessed!

The LORD has it covered

“This house, now so exalted-everyone passing by will gasp in shock at the sight of it and will ask, Why has Adonai done this to this land and to this house? But the answer will be, It’s because they abandoned Adonai their God, who brought their ancestors out of the land of Egypt, and took hold of other gods, worshipping and serving them; this is why Adonai brought all these calamities on them.”
1 Kings 9:8-9 CJB

Often times our problems are of our own making or are own disobedience to the LORD! Even if it seems life is out of control, remember, the LORD isn’t!

“If you love me, you will keep My commands.”
John 14:15 CJB

We are always going to be better off when we follow the LORD and do things His way!

“Taste, and see Adonai is good. How blessed are those who take refuge in Him!”
Psalm 34:8 CJB

Today, let’s look to the LORD for everything He has all the answers and all the cures! Don’t try to figure out why things are happening, just know the LORD has it all worked out!
Have a blessed day in Him!

Take a break

“So be wholehearted with with Adonai our God, living by His laws and observing His mitzvoth, as you are doing today.”
1 Kings 8:61 CJB

With all that is going on in the world around us, what we need to do is follow after the LORD wholeheartedly! He is really all we need and people around us desperately need Him too!

“Seek Adonai and His strength; always seek His presence.”
1 Chronicles 16:11 CJB

One of the things believers have done, in my opinion, is neglect honestly following the LORD! We’ve been too busy building our retirement, savings and personal recreation, to name a few things, that keep us too busy for the LORD!

“If I shut up the sky, so that there is no rain; or if I order locusts to devour the land; or if I send and epidemic of sickness among my people; then, if my people, who bear my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek My face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 CJB

If we are honest, we all can take a look at ourselves and see something in our lives that needs to be removed or changed! The situation that the whole world is in right now is a perfect time and place to do that!
May the LORD bless your day!

Here is a great thought on all this, we are staying home and spending time with our families! Basically taking a real sabbath day, let’s take advantage of it repent, pray and rest in the LORD!
