Reset

“Tell the people of Israel, In the seventh month, the first of the month is to be for you a day of complete rest for remembering, a holy convocation announced with blasts on the shofar.”
Leviticus 23:24 CJB

This verse speaks of Rosh HaShanah (New Year) not the physical New Year but the spiritual New Year! The Idea here is that when the Shofar sounds it gives us a moment that we get to reset our lives, out with the bad and in with the good! One day it will be a permanent reset, never to go back to the old!

“On the morning of the third day, there was thunder, lightening and a thick cloud on the mountain. Then s shofar blast sounded so loudly that all the people in the camp trembled.”
Exodus 19:13 CJB

We all should take a good look at ourselves, especially the bad stuff and make the necessary changes to do what’s right! A day to seek the LORD!

“When you seek Me, you will find Me, provided you seek for Me wholeheartedly.”
Jeremiah 29:13 CJB

Today, is a good day to reset ourselves and seek the LORD to do better.
Shabbat Shalom.
Shanah Tova!

Joy in the LORD

“This is how things are in the homes of the wicked, and this is the place of those who don’t know God.”
Job 18:21 CJB

The idea here is without the LORD and His word, we will have nothing but confusion and depression!

“With trumpets and the sound of the shofar, shout for joy before the King, Adonai!”
Psalm 98:6 CJB

When we are feeling down and depression is creeping in, it is His word and His ways that will get us through! He saves!

“Shout for joy to Adonai, all the earth!”
Psalm 100:1 CJB

No matter what is happening good or bad, realize we will always have joy in the LORD!
May your day be filled with His joy!
Shabbat Shalom!

The LORD is by our side

“My spirit is broken, my days are quenched, I am marked for the grave. Markers are all around me; my eye meets only their hostility.”
Job 17:1-2 CJB

When we look around at the world around us, we can feel broken. Then when we stand up for the LORD, the hostile world mocks and can discourage us! Know the LORD is right by our side!

“Be my Guarantor, Yourself! Who else will put up a pledge for me?”
Job 17:3 CJB

This is what the LORD did for us, He pledged Himself for us and guaranteed our salvation! All we have to do is repent and call upon Him!

“For You have shut their minds to common sense; therefore You will not let them triumph.”
Job 17:4 CJB

Today, as rough as things may seem, know that the LORD has made a perfect way for us! Remember, the unbelieving world lacks common sense!
Have a blessed day!

Make the day count

“For I have but a few years left before I leave on the road of no return.”
Job 16:22 CJB

Job is saying that we are only here on earth for a short time, then we leave to go home to be with the LORD!

We give thanks to You, God, we give thanks; Your name is near, people tell of Your wonders.”
Psalm 75:1 CJB

While we are here on earth, let’s make every opportunity to share how good the LORD is!

“Don’t let yourself be disturbed. Trust in God and trust in Me. In My Father’s house are many places to live. If there weren’t, I would have told you; because I am going there to prepare a place for you. Since I am going and preparing a place for you, I will return to take you with Me; so that where I am, you may be also.”
John 14:1-3 CJB

Today, let’s use our time wisely and share the good news of the LORD!
May your day be blessed

Turn off the noise

“Should a wise man answer with hot-air arguments? Should he fill up his belly with hot east wind?”
Job 15:2 CJB

The idea here is there really isn’t any wise men and everything that comes out of their mouths is hot air!

“Should he reason with useless talk or make speeches that do no good?”
Job 15:3 CJB

Here is the deal, the world is full of useless talk and useless speeches, by useless politicians and commentators!

“Why, you are abolishing fear of God and hindering prayer to Him!”
Job 15:4 CJB

All this noise can and does hinder our relationship with God, it can and does block our ability to hear Him! Today, let’s turn the noise off and listen for the LORD!
Have a blessed day!
