Watch out for deception!

“You know Avner (Abner) the son of Ner-he came only to deceive you, to learn what campaigns you’re planning and to find out everything you’re doing!”
2 Samuel 3:25 CJB

The truth is there are many people out there who will be nice and kind only to deceive you!

“But they tried to deceive him with their words, they lied to him with their tongues.”
Psalm 78:36 CJB

We need to be people who are always checking for truth, being careful not to fall into deception which is around every corner!

“Open your ears, and come to me; listen well, and you will live-I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the grace I assured David.”
Isaiah 55:3 CJB

Today, let’s be all about seeking Adonai and His truths and we will be able to spot deceptive people a lot easier!
Have a blessed day in Adonai.

Put God first

“Avner the son of Ner, commander of Sha’ul’s army, had taken Ish-Boshet the son of Sha’ul, brought him over to Machanayim, and made him king over Gilad, th Ashuri, Yizreael, Efrayim, Binyamin and all Israel.”
2 Samuel 2:8-9 CJB

We all need to be careful of putting leaders over us, whether politicians, pastors or just celebrities! We need to always put God over us and not flawed humans!

“I am Adonai your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the abode of Slavery. You are to have no other gods before me.”
Exodus 20:2-3 CJB

Things can get really weird and out of sync when we start following men or women instead of God, because we can get all goofy and completely sidetracked!

“But I will call on God, and Adonai will save me.”
Psalm 55:16 CJB

When we put God in charge of all things in our lives, we will always be better off!
Have a blessed day looking to Adonai for all things!

Be honest

“So I stood next to him (Saul) and killed him, because I was sure he was so badly wounded that he couldn’t live. I took the crown that was on his head and the bracelet on his arm and have brought them here to my lord.”
2 Samuel 1:10 CJB

This young man was trying to impress David, lying and getting himself into deadly trouble! In 1 Samuel 31:3-6, tells us that Saul committed suicide!

“Do not let grace and truth leave you-bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart.”
Proverbs 3:3 CJB

When we walk in the truth, God’s truth, we will always be better off! We need to be honest and speak truth, even if it’s not popular, even if friends and family reject us!

“Nothing gives me greater joy than hearing that my children are living in truth.”
3 John 1:4 CJB

Today, let’s walk in God’s truth and be honest in what we say and do! Why? Because it pleases Him and gives Him joy in us, His children!
Have a blessed day walking in God’s truths!

Peace

“Obey and pay attention to everything I am ordering you to do, so that things will go well with you and your descendants after you forever, as you do what Adonai sees as good and right.”
Deuteronomy 12:28 CJB

When we obey and do what Adonai tells us to do through His word, we will see how things will always go well for us! We will have peace!

“All your children will be taught by Adonai; your children will have great peace.”
Isaiah 54:13 CJB

When we are doing things God’s way our children will see it and do the same!

“Dear friends, don’t trust every spirit. On the contrary, test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
1 John 4:1 CJB

Today, we need to pay attention and do what God says. We also need to be careful of listening to people who say things that don’t line up with scripture! When we test what they say with scripture, we will always see the loving hand of God and rest in His peace!
Have a blessed day!
Shabbat Shalom!

Repent

“Thus Sha’ul, his three sons, his armor-bearer and all his men died that same day together.”
1 Samuel 31:6 CJB

God really doesn’t let anyone get away with sinning without repenting! The problem is when we blatantly sin it will affect other people, especially family members and acquaintances!
Sin is a cancer that grows and kills, not only the sinner but those around them!

“But if you will not do this, then you have sinned against Adonai, and you must understand that your sin will find you out.”
Numbers 32;23 CJB

Never think that you can get away with even a little sin or think that your sin only affects you! It doesn’t! We can even take it a step further: our unrepentant leaders who are doing evil things that affect all of us! What do we do? Pray!

“Then, if My people, who bear My name, will humble themselves, pray, seek My face and turn from their evil ways, I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin and heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14 CJB

Today, we need to not only pray and repent for ourselves, but we need to pray for others to repent also! Don’t waste time pointing out the obvious sinners, but instead pray for them, God will deal with the ones He needs to!
Have a blessed day!
Shabbat Shalom!
