Embrace the desert times

“He answered, I have been overzealous for Adonai the God of armies, because the peoples of Israel have abandoned Your covenant, broken down Your altars and killed Your prophets with the sword. Now I’m the only one left, and they’re coming after me to kill me too.”
1 Kings 19:10 CJB

Just like Elijah, we can feel defeated and alone! We also can feel left out or we were once used and now we are just watching others doing great things! These times are called the desert, times of reflection and growing! God isn’t through with you yet!

“So Avram went, as Adonai had said to him, and Lot went with him. Avram was 75 years old when he left Haran.”
Genesis 12:4 CJB

No matter where we look in scripture, we can find plenty of people who served Adonai at an old age, waiting in the wings to be called! Moses, Joshua and Caleb all waited for their time to be called! We need to be preparing for that day!

“Commit your way to Adonai; trust in Him, and He will act.”
Psalm 37:5 CJB

Today, as you are waiting to be called, we can be preparing by committing our ways to Adonai and looking for any opportunity to share His good news of salvation!
Have a blessed day waiting on Adonai!

You’re never alone

“Then Eliyahu said to the people, I, I alone, am the only prophet of Adonai who is left, while Ba`al’s prophets number 450.”
1 Kings 18:22 CJB

Just like Elijah, we can feel all alone, overwhelmed and even defeated! Remember this is the farthest thing from the truth! Yeshua is always with us every step of the way!

“Haven’t I ordered you, Be strong, be bold? So don’t be afraid or downhearted, because Adonai your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9 CJB

Elijah wasn’t alone and neither are we! There is always someone else going through the same things we are! What do we do? Pray!

“When Job prayed for his friends, Adonai restored his fortunes; Adonai gave Job twice as much as he had before.”
Job 42:10 CJB

Today, let’s be all about praying for each other and watch how Adonai blesses! You may not get great riches, but you will get His great peace!
Have a blessed day serving Adonai!

Listen to God

“So he went and acted according to the word of Adonai-he went and lived in Vadi K’rit near the Yarden.”
1 Kings 17:5 CJB

This is what we need to be doing also, just simply living by the word of God! We see here that Elijah doesn’t even question God, he just does what He says!

“I will find my delight in Your regulations. I will not forget Your word.”
Psalm 119:16 CJB

Where do we find our delight? Is it in Adonai or is it in the world?
We can never go wrong when we are in the word of God, just doing what it says!

“If you love Me, you will keep My commands.”
John 14:15 CJB

Today, we will always be doing much better when we just do what God tells us in His word!
Have a blessed day living, listening to God!

Shine

“Ach’av the son of `Omri did what was evil from Adonai’s perspective, outdoing all his predecessors [in wickedness].”
1 Kings 16:30 CJB

As we read through the accounts of the kings of Israel they kept getting more and more evil! We see the same with leaders and people today! It almost seems if people try to out do each other in being evil and doing wicked things. We live in a time of extreme wickedness!

“How long are the wicked, Adonai, how long are the wicked to triumph?”
Psalm 94:3 CJB

We all can ask this same question of Adonai. We see the wickedness and ask how long is this going to happen? What we really need to be doing is looking to Adonai and know He is going to deal with the wickedness in the world! So let’s do the things He calls us to do!

“In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they may see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16 CJB

Today, more than ever, we as believers need to reflect the light of Adonai as much as we possibly can! The dark world around us needs the light of Adonai!
Have a blessed day shining for Yeshua!

Careful of what you take in

“But the high places were not removed, Nevertheless, Asa was wholehearted with Adonai throughout his life.”
1 Kings 15:14 CJB

Asa did good things for Adonai! He removed prostitutes, rid the land of idols and put back the holy things dedicated to God into the temple! Unfortunately he tolerated the high places, allowing the people to continue in idolatry!

“I will not allow before my eyes any shameful thing. I hated those who act crookedly; what they do does not attract me.”
Psalm 101:3 CJB

Do we follow after God, but still allow things that are not upright happen around us? We need to be careful of what we allow into our lives and what we see!

“Glory in His holy name; let those seeking Adonai have joyful hearts.”
1 Chronicles 16:10 CJB

Today, let’s really take a good look at what we allow into our lives and if it’s ungodly, let’s remove it!
Have a blessed day seeking Adonai!
