Shine

“For You, Adonai, light my lamp; Adonai, my God, lights up my darkness.”
Psalm 18:29 CJB

Yes, it’s the LORD who is light and it is He who lights our way in the darkness!

“In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they may see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16 CJB

During these dark days we are living in, we really need to reflect the light of the LORD. Not shine so we can be seen, but shine so the LORD can be glorified!

“Proclaim with me the greatness of Adonai; let us exalt His name together.”
Psalm 34:3 CJB

Today, we really need to be reflecting the light of the LORD! Why? Because the dark world around us really needs the light of the LORD and we, as believers, are the only ones who can reflect it!
Have a blessed day!

Pay attention

“This is what I told Pharaoh: God has shown Pharaoh what he is about to do. Here it is: there will be seven years of abundance throughout the whole land of Egypt; but afterwards, there will come seven years of famine; and Egypt will forget all the abundance. The famine will consume the land, and the abundance will not be known in the land because of the famine that will follow, because it will be truly terrible.”
Genesis 41:28-31 CJB

Here we see God speaking through Joseph, warning Egypt (the world) that things are gonna get rough! Human tendency is when things get rough we seem to forget how good the LORD is and we start dwelling on our situation instead of focusing on the LORD!
I believe we are seeing a great many similarities happening in the world around us today.

“Iyov (Job) got up, tore his coat, shaved his head, fell down on the ground and worshipped; he said, Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will return. Adonai gave; Adonai took; blessed be the name of Adonai.
In all this Iyov neither committed a sin or put blame on God.”
Job 1:20-22 CJB

The sad thing is even believers can blame God when things start to get bad! In my opinion, things are really starting to get bad, riots, pandemics and political unrest! The only thing that is good is the LORD! So as the world is falling apart, our focus needs to be on the LORD and sharing His Good News of Salvation!

“Taste, and see that Adonai is good. How blessed are those who take refuge in Him!”
Psalm 34:8 CJB

Today, as the world is definitely going down the drain, so to speak, remember the LORD is good and has an abundant future in store for us!
May we reflect His light today!
Shabbat Shalom!

Shine light

“There will arise in his place a despicable man not entitled to inherit the majesty of the kingdom, but he will come without warning and gain the kingdom by intrigue.”
Daniel 11:21 CJB

Just like Antiochus Epiphanies, who came into power in 175BC peaceably, then deceived a great many people! Many of the world’s most despicable rulers came to power peaceably, then turned into tyrants! Every time persecution happens believers step up like the Maccabees, who took down Antiochus and cleansed the temple in Jerusalem!

“Those who act wickedly against the covenant he will corrupt with his blandishments (flattery), but the people who know their God will stand firm and prevail.”
Daniel 11:32 CJB

We, too, need to be careful of those who flatter and deceive! Our best bets will always be to know God and stand firm in Him!

“Put your hope in Adonai, be strong, and let your heart take courage! Yes, put your hope in Adonai!”
Psalm 27:14 CJB

Today, no matter how bad things may look or if you get confused as to why people follow deceptive leaders, take courage the LORD has it covered, so let’s reflect His marvelous light!
Have a blessed day!
Shabbat Shalom!

Let your light shine!

“By offering polluted food on My altar! Now you ask, How are we polluting You? By saying that the table of Adonai doesn’t deserve respect; so there’s nothing wrong with offering blind animals as a sacrifice, nothing wrong with offering an animal that’s lame or sick. Try offering such an animal to your governor, and see if he will be pleased with you! Would he even receive you? asks Adonai-Tzav’ot (Lord Almighty).”
Malachi 1:7-8 CJB

This is a good question for us also! Do we give God our leftovers, lame and sick offerings? Remember, He gave everything for us!

“I exhort you, therefore, brothers, in view of God’s mercies, to offer yourselves as a sacrifice, living and set apart for God. This will please Him; it is logical Temple worship for you.”
Romans 12:1 CJB

The question is do we give God our best? The LORD desires us to be on fire for Him and living a life that glorifies Him! Don’t worry about what you have or don’t have, the LORD desires us to be living for Him!

“Give thanks to Adonai! Call on His name! Make His deeds known among the peoples.”
1 Chronicles 16:8 CJB

Today, remember the LORD has given us so much, so let His light shine brightly in you today!
Have a blessed day shining for the LORD!
Chag Urim Sameach! Happy Hanukkah

The LORD reigns

“Then Adonai will be king over the whole world. On that day Adonai will be the one, and His name will be the only name.”
Zechariah 14:9 CJB

What a glorious day this will be where we will be one people, one language and the LORD will be the only leader!

“For then I will change the peoples, so that they will have pure lips, to call on the name of Adonai, all of them, and serve Him with one accord.”
Zephaniah 3:9 CJB

As we look around us at all the unease and division, we need to be encouraged that when the day of the LORD comes we all will be united!

“Look to Me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God; there is no other. In the name of Myself I have sworn, from My mouth has rightly gone out, a word that will not return-that to Me every knee will bow and every tongue will swear.”
Isaiah 45:22-23 CJB also Romans 14:11

In that day all things will be made right under the LORD. We will have real everlasting peace! Until then, let’s be encouraged in the LORD and share His Good News of Salvation!
Have a blessed day!
