Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:”
This is something for us to ponder. Understand the LORD is speaking all the time, but are we listening? So often we get so caught up in making requests, asking for stuff and looking for direction we forget to just listen!
“Then He said, Go out, and stand on the mountain before the LORD. And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.”
1 Kings 19:11-12
The Hebrew meaning of still small voice here is “Dead silence”. So often we are so busy talking (making noise) that we forget to just listen!
As Psalm 46:10 says: “Be still and know that I am God.”
Often times the answer we seek is right before us all we have to do is be still and stop talking and just listen!
“But the LORD is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him.”
Today, take some time and simply be still, be silent and listen for the LORD! There is so much noise around that we really need to put some effort in to listening for the LORD, He really is speaking!
Have a blessed day listening for Him!
