Yom Kippur

“Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land.” Leviticus 25:9

The Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) was a day were sacrifices were made to the LORD for the nation of Israel and the High Priest went into the Holy of Holies to make atonement for the nation! Now that the temple is gone it’s a day of fasting and looking inward, to repent and ask for forgiveness!

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

For us who believe in the LORD who have accepted Yeshua as LORD and Savior, this should be a day of realizing how much you’ve been forgiven of, when you do your heart should sound a trumpet of Jubilee! It’s also a day were we can reflect, repent and be restored by the LORD!

“Humble yourselves in the sight of the LORD, and He will lift you up.” James 4:10

Our flesh always tells us we don’t have to or don’t need to, but the LORD shows us we get to! Take some time in the next day, fast, remove something from your daily routine and seek the LORD!

“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

Have a blessed day Shabbat Shalom!
