Change starts in you

“No previous king was like him; because he turned to Adonai with all his heart; with all his being and with all his power, in accordance with all the Torah of Moshe; nor did any king like him arise afterwards.”
2 Kings 23:25 CJB

We seem to want to protest a great many things, thinking we will change the world! But for change to happen we need to look to the LORD, listen to Him and make changes in ourselves first!

“But as for me, I will look to Adonai, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.”
Micah 7:7 CJB

As we look to the LORD and His word realize, He as the answer for everything! We need to not only look, but we have to be listeners and doers!

“Don’t deceive yourselves by only hearing what the Word says, but do it!”
James 1:22 CJB

Today, let’s turn to the LORD for everything, fix what’s wrong in our hearts and then act upon what the Word of God tells us! Let’s be doers!
Have a blessed day in Him!
Shabbat Shalom!

Have passion for the LORD

“After the king had heard what was written in the scroll of the Torah, he tore his clothes.”
2 Kings 22:11 CJB

When we read the word of God, do we have this type of passion and reaction?

“See, the Word of God is alive! It is at work and is sharper than a double-edged sword—it cuts right through to where soul meets spirit and joints meet marrow, and it is quick to judge the inner reflections and attitudes of the heart.”
Hebrews 4:12 CJB

Is the word of God affecting us and guiding us as it should? Or do we read it and just move on to whatever we are doing?

“Guide me in Your truth, and teach me; for you are the God who saves me, my hope is in You all day long.”
Psalm 25:5 CJB

Today, let us hear the word of God and pray that it affects us like King Josiah! Tearing at our hearts, prompting us to act upon what we hear!
Have a blessed day in Him!

Look to the LORD

“But they did not take heed; and M’nasheh misled them into doing even worse things than the nations Adonai had destroyed ahead of the people of Israel.”
2 Kings 21:9 CJB

We need to be careful of who we listen to and follow, no matter how popular or how good they sound. Realize, the people willingly followed Manasseh and his evil ways.

“For they don’t speak words of peace but devise ways to deceive the peaceful of the land.”
Psalm 35:20 CJB

This is why studying the word of God is so important!

“I will treasure your word in my heart, so that I won’t sin against you.”
Psalm 119:11 CJB

There are a lot of people sharing things on social media, on the news and even from the pulpit that may sound and look good, but don’t line up with the LORD?

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who change darkness into light and light into darkness, who change bitter into sweet and sweet into bitter!”
Isaiah 5:20 CJB

We see this happening today all around us so we need to be on guard! How? By being in His word!

“Your word is a lamp for my foot and light on my path.”
Psalm 119:105 CJB

Today, let’s take heed the word of God and not get caught up in the misleading drama of the world which is all around us! Check everything through the lens of scripture!
Have a blessed day seeking the LORD!

The LORD sees all

“Go back, and tell Hezekiah the prince of My people, that is what Adonai, the God of David your ancestors, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears, and I will heal you. On the third day, you are to go up to the house of Adonai.”
2 Kings 20:5 CJB

This one verse has so much that we can unpack here, but let’s take a look at one we can apply today! The LORD hears every single one of our prayers and He sees every one of our tears!

“Hear my prayer, Adonai, listen to my cry, don’t be deaf to my weeping; for with you, I am just a traveler passing through, like all my ancestors.”
Psalm 39:12 CJB

Knowing that the LORD hears and sees everything, we just have to remember we really are travelers just passing through! The problems we are dealing with today will go away and the LORD will always get us through! Don’t allow your problems to overwhelm you, but keep your eyes fixed on the LORD!

“It shall come to pass That before they call, I will answer; And while they are still speaking, I will hear.”
Isaiah 65:24 CJB

Today, realize, the LORD, is dealing with all our issues. Knowing that let us daily go up to the house of the LORD praising Him, because He will see us through!
Have a blessed day in Him!

Lay it before the LORD

“Hezekiah took the letter from the messengers hands and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to the house of Adonai and spread it out before Adonai.”
2 Kings 19:14 CJB

Do we lay out our issues before man or the LORD? Often times we will call a friend, family member or just lay things out on social media before we go to the LORD!

“Hezekiah prayed as follows in the presence of Adonai: Adonai God of Israel, who dwells above the k’ruvim (cherubim)! You alone are God of all the kingdoms on earth. You made heaven and earth.”
2 Kings 19:15 CJB

We sometimes need to be reminded that the LORD is the creator of the universe! With that said, because He created the heavens and the earth, He can surely deal with all our situations. We just need to pray and lay them out before Him!

“Come, let’s bow down and worship; let’s kneel before Adonai who made us.”
Psalm 95:6 CJB

Today, with all that is going on in the world, we need to go to the LORD first, not the world! Then after we go to the LORD, let’s just praise Him and worship Him, knowing He has it all worked out!
Have a blessed day!
