Focus on the LORD

“Our God, listen! We are being treated with contempt. Turn back their jeers on their own heads; give them over to be plundered in a land of exile. Don’t cover their guilt, don’t let their sin be wiped out from before you; because they have insulted the builders to their face.”
Nehemiah 3:36-37 CJB (4:4-5 NKJB)

Nothing really ever gets done when we focus on the world and its mocking towards us, but when we focus on the LORD, things get done, we succeed!

“So we kept building the wall, which was soon joined together and completed to half its height all the way around; because the people worked with a will.”
Nehemiah 3:38 CJB (4:6 NKJB)

We really need to be focusing on the LORD and seeking His will and doing it! As the world mocks us, let it drive us to go farther in the LORD!

“Serve Adonai with gladness. Enter His presence with joyful songs.”
Psalm 100:2 CJB

Today, don’t focus on the world and its trappings, but instead, focus on the LORD and His will! Instead just keep moving ahead in Jesus!
Have a blessed day!

Don’t fear

“When Sanvalat the Horoni, Toviyah the servant, the Amoni, and Geshem the Arab heard about it, they began mocking us and jeering, What is this you are doing? Are you going to rebel against the king? But I answered them: The God of heaven will enable us to succeed. Therefore we His servants will set about rebuilding. But you have no share, right or history to commemorate in Jerusalem.”
Nehemiah 2:19-20 CJB

How cool is this and we should take note! The world was coming against Nehemiah, mocking and threatening him. And his answer is we have a historical right to be here, we are obeying God and we will have success in Him!

“You are to follow Adonai your God, fear Him, obey His mitzvot (law), listen to what He says, serve Him and cling to Him.”
Deuteronomy 13:5 CJB

When we hear the world mocking us as we serve the LORD, don’t let it get us down, just keep serving! Even as we see today, the most bizarre things are allowed, but believers gathering together is hindered or mocked!

“How happy is everyone who fears Adonai who lives by His ways.”
Psalm 128:1 CJB

Today, as the unbelieving world mocks us, don’t worry or let it get you down! Just keep serving the LORD!
Have a blessed day!

Don’t complicate things

“Adonai, please let Your ears now be attentive to the prayer of Your servants who take joy in fearing Your name: please let Your servant succeed today and win this man’s compassion-for I was the king’s personal attendant.”
Nehemiah 1:11 CJB

Nehemiah is being real careful about being in the will of the LORD, not getting ahead of Him or falling behind just being in His will!

“Human being you have already been told what is good, what Adonai demands of you-no more than to act justly, love grace and walk in purity (humbly) with God.”
Micah 6:8 CJB

It’s often said: that life can be complicated, but do we complicate it? If we just follow the LORD, do good and walk humbly with Him, not using our own understanding and thoughts, but leaning on the LORD instead will uncomplicated things quickly!

“Adonai is good, and He is fair; this is why He teaches sinners the way [to live], leads the humble to do what is right and teaches the humble [to live] His way.”
Psalm 25:8-9

Today, know the LORD hears us, so let’s really spend time listening for His voice and leading! Don’t allow the world and its trappings complicate your day!
May you be guided by the LORD today!

Repent

“Stand up, and do your duty, for we are with you; take courage, and do it!”
Ezra 10:4 CJB

Like Ezra, we need to stand up and do what the LORD calls us to do! The people in Judah and in Jerusalem were marrying foreigners, which the LORD was displeased with. Ezra was called to make it right! How? REPENT! The same goes for us!

“From the time on, Yeshua began proclaiming, Turn from your sins to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near!”
Matthew 4:17 CJB

For believers, we need to always be mindful of what we are doing. It’s easy to get caught up in sin. The good news is all we have to do is repent and Jesus forgives!

“He forgives all your offenses, He heals all your disease, He redeems your life from the pit, He surrounds you with grace and compassion, He contents you with good as long as you live, so that your youth is renewed like and eagle’s.”
Psalm 103:3-5 CJB

What great news! As believers, we can repent, be forgiven and renewed in the LORD! Today, let’s share that Good News with the unbelieving world and walk in His ways!
Have a blessed day.

Spend time with the LORD

“This I pleaded with Adonai, Adonai Elohim, You have begun to reveal Your greatness to your servant, and your strong hand-for what other god is there in heaven or on earth that can do the works and mighty deeds You do?”
Deuteronomy 3:23-24 CJB

Are we pleading with the LORD praying and calling on His name, realizing, That He does great and mighty things that no one else can do?

“But I will call on God, and Adonai will save me. Evening, morning and noon I complain and moan; but He hears my voice.”
Psalm 55:16-17 CJB

As believers, we need to spend more time calling, talking and listening to the LORD and less time doing silly things!

“These words, which I am ordering you today, are to be on your heart; and you are to teach them carefully to your children. You are to talk about them when you sit at home, when you are traveling on the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 CJB

Today, let’s spend some serious time with the LORD, praying and seeking His will for us, then sharing it with those around us!
Have a blessed day.
Shabbat Shalom!
