Call on Adonai

“He will give up on Israel of the sins of Yarov`am, which he committed himself, and with which he made Israel sin as well.”
1 Kings 14:16 CJB

When a people support a sinful person as their leader, sin will become rampant! We see this in the world today with the celebrating of all kinds of sinful things that leaders support!

“My people have been lost sheep. My shepherds made them go astray, turning them loose in the mountains. As they wandered from mountain to hill, they lost track of where their home is.”
Jeremiah 50:6 CJB

When we follow world leaders we can and do get lost and confused! But when we follow God, He is near when we call!

“Adonai is near those with broken hearts; He saves those whose spirit is crushed.”
Psalm 34:18 CJB

Calling on Adonai isn’t just to fix our messes, we should be calling on Him all the time to stay out of messes!

“When you call to Me and pray to Me, I will listen to you.”
Jeremiah 29:12 CJB

So even when sinful leaders try to confuse us and lead us astray! We will always be in better shape when we look to Adonai!
Have a blessed day in Adonai!
Shabbat Shalom!

Be on guard

“The other said to him, I too am a prophet, just like you; and an angel spoke to me by the word of Adonai and said, Bring him back with you to your house, so that he can eat food and drink water. But he was lying to him.”
1 Kings 13:18 CJB

We also need to be careful of deception and false teachers! People do lie and deceive!

“For the time is coming when people will not have patience for sound teaching, but will cater to their passions and gather around themselves teachers who say whatever their ears itch to hear.”
2 Timothy 4:3 CJB

Just like then, we have teachers and preachers who are full of deception and false teaching! We need to be on guard!

“Yes, they will stop listening to the truth, but will turn aside to follow myths.”
2 Timothy 4:4 CJB

The sad thing is people want to hear what they want to hear and do what they want to do! We need to keep our focus on Adonai and walk in His ways so we don’t fall into deception!
Have a blessed day following Adonai!

Be alert

“Yes, my father burdened you with a heavy yoke, but I will make it heavier! My father controlled you with whips, but I will control you with scorpions!”
1 Kings 12:11 CJB

We see this happening all around us today, oppression of people by people in power or with influence! They say do as I tell you not as I do! Should we fear this? No! It’s just as Yeshua warned us!

“Yeshua replied: Watch out! Don’t let anyone fool you!
Matthew 24:4 CJB

Yes, we need to be watching and vetting all things we hear and see!

“Stay sober, stay alert! Your enemy, the Adversary, stalks about like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
1 Peter 5:8 CJB

What does this tell us? That there will always be people who will try to lord over us and oppress us! We just need to be alert and know that Yeshua has it all covered!

God has you

“For when Shlomo became old, his heart away toward other gods; so that he was not wholehearted with Adonai his God, as David his father had been.”
1 Kings 11:4 CJB

A good question we all should ask: is there anything turning us from God? Life presents us with many distractions, careers, health issues and financial issues! Understand God cares about all aspects of our lives, so don’t be distracted by other gods!

“At that time many will be trapped into betraying and hating each other, many false prophets will appear and fool many people; and many people’s love will grow cold because of increased distance from Torah.”
Matthew 24:10-12 CJB

Just like Solomon allowed worldly influences into his life that made his heart colder towards God! We can also allow worldly influences into our lives and become colder towards God!
So what do we do?

“Stay united with Me, as I will with you-for just as the branch can’t put forth fruit by itself apart from the vine, so you can’t bear fruit apart from Me.”
John 15:4 CJB

Life is hard and has many ups and downs. What we need to know is we can’t do it without Adonai! So abide in Him, cling to Him, knowing He has got you!
Have a blessed day clinging to Adonai!
