Rebuke with love

“For I have told him that I will execute judgment against his family forever, because of his wickedness in not rebuking his sons, even though he knew that they had brought a curse on themselves.”
1 Samuel 3:13 CJB

Eli’s sons blasphemed God and he said and did nothing to stop them! Understand we are not responsible for what our adult children do, but if we say nothing and don’t take a stand we are part of the problem!

“The rod and rebuke give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame on his mother.”
Proverbs 29:15 CJB

Scripture tells us to rebuke our children when they are being ungodly!

“Eli’s sons were scoundrels who had no regard for Adonai.”
1 Samuel 2:12 CJB

Look, if we have children, family members or friends acting like fools and scoundrels, and we can’t lovingly rebuke them, what’s that say about us?

“My brothers, if one of you wanders from the truth, and someone causes him to return, you should know that whoever turns a sinner from his wandering path will save him from death and cover many sins.”
James 5:19-20 CJB

So let’s be looking out for those we love and encourage them in Adonai, even if that means lovingly rebuking them! Remember the key word is lovingly!
Have a blessed day!

He has done great things!

“Then Hannah prayed; she said: My heart exults in Adonai! My dignity has been restored by Adonai! I can gloat over my enemies, because of my joy at your saving me.”
1 Samuel 2:1 CJB

It is God who saves us, protects us and redeems us! What we should be doing is glorifying and praising Adonai in everything!

“Then I will be joyful in Adonai, I will rejoice in His salvation.”
Psalm 35:9 CJB

One day Adonai will make all things right and we will be living in His perfect Kingdom for all eternity! This should give us great joy knowing we will be with Him in His perfect kingdom one day!

“I am so joyful in Adonai! My soul rejoices in my God, for He has clothed me in salvation, dressed me with a robe of triumph, like a bridegroom wearing a festive turban, like a bride adorned with her jewels.”
Isaiah 61:10 CJB

As bad as things may seem, let’s remember how good Adonai is and the great things He has done! Let’s rejoice in the great and amazing things He will do!
May your day be richly blessed!

Pray

“She prayed for a long time before Adonai; and as she did so, ‘Eli was watching her mouth.”
1 Samuel 1:12 CJB

Instead of watching her lips, he should have listened to her prayer! Do we make the same mistake? Just watching someone, but having no idea what they are going through, because we don’t listen, we just watch! The only thing we should see here is Hannah’s consistent prayer and do the same thing, consistently be in prayer!

“Pray regularly.”
1 Thessalonians 5:17 CJB

This doesn’t mean pray in a mindless manner, just repeating some religious mantra! But pray with purpose and do it regularly!

“The eyes of Adonai watch over the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.”
Psalm 34:15 CJB

God hears and answers prayer! We have to be consistent and pray for His desires for us, not our lustful wants! What we pray for will never be answered if it contradicts His Word!

“He will call on Me, and I will answer him. I will be with him when he is in trouble. I will extricate (free from constraint) him and bring him honor.”
Psalm 91:15 CJB

We need to know when we call to Adonai, He always hears us and answers us when we call! Remember its always going to be in His timing and in His way!
May your day be blessed!

We’ve been redeemed

“So the redeemer said to Boaz, Buy it for yourself, and took off his shoe.”
Ruth 4:8 CJB

Taking off your shoe in times past meant you were serious about the transaction! Boaz, in a way, is a picture of what God did for us! He redeemed Ruth, a foreigner who was rejected and really homeless and gave her more than she imagined or maybe even deserved! The same goes for us. Yeshua removed Himself from His heavenly throne to come and redeem us and give us a new home and life with Him!

“In My Father’s house are many places to live. If there weren’t, I would have told you; because I am going there to prepare a place for you.”
John 14:2 CJB

So don’t get caught up in the difficulties of the world, but look forward to being with Adonai, who is our redeemer!

“Since I am going and preparing a place for you, I will return to take you with Me; so that where I am, you may be also.”
John 14:3 CJB

What good news to hear that the Creator of the Universe is going and preparing a place for us so we can spend all eternity with Him! He is redeeming us for Himself!

“But I know that my Redeemer lives, that in the end He will rise on the dust; so that after my skin has been thus destroyed, then even without my flesh, I will see God.”
Job 19:25-26 CJB

Understand there is nothing this world can throw against us that can separate us from Adonai. When things get tough, realize we’ve been redeemed by Adonai!
Have a blessed day!
Shabbat Shalom!
