Be on guard

“But you love those who hate you and hate those who love you. Today you said that princes and servants mean nothing to you-for I can see today that it would have pleased you more if Avshalom (Absalom) had lived today, and we had all died!”
2 Samuel 19:7 CJB

We all need to be careful of this: loving those who hate you more than those who love you! Understand we should love and pray for our enemies, but we should cherish those who love and care for us all the more! The world around us is definitely seeing and doing things backwards!

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who change darkness into light and light into darkness, who change bitter into sweet and sweet into bitter!”
Isaiah 5:20 CJB

We, as believers, need to be very watchful and observant at what we see in the world around us today! Why? Because things are really upside-down and people will try to deceive people who follow Yeshua!

“Pay attention! I am sending you out like sheep among wolves, so be as prudent as snakes and as harmless as doves.”
Matthew 10:16 CJB

Today, we need to be mindful and wise about those around us, but we also need to be kind! We also need to be bold about Yeshua and be wise on how we share!
Have a blessed day looking to Adonai!

Look for God in everything

“The king asked the Ethiopian, Is everything all right with young Avshalom (Absalom)? The Ethiopian answered, May the enemies of my lord the king and all who rebel against you be as that young man is.”
2 Samuel 18:32 CJB

Not all the news we get is going to be good or what we want it to hear! But, understand in that news God still has a perfect plan!

“For I know what plans I have in mind for you, says Adonai, plans for well-being, not for bad things; so that you can have hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 CJB

Even when we get bad news like being fired, bad health diagnosis or a family tragedy. Remember, God is still on the throne and we need to seek Him in all things!

“When you seek Me, you will find Me, provided you seek for Me wholeheartedly.”
Jeremiah 29:13 CJB

Today, no matter what good or bad, let’s be those who seek Adonai in everything!
Have a blessed day looking to Adonai!

Listen to Gods warnings

“David and all the people with him got up and crossed the Yarden; by dawn every one of them had crossed the Yarden.”
2 Samuel 17:22 CJB

Here we see David being warned and then moving on. God gives us all warnings and often times we don’t listen! We need to be giving ear to Adonai, who through His word is constantly warning us!

“Your word is a lamp for my foot and a light to my path.”
Psalm 119:105 CJB

The best way not to get trapped or caught up in nonsense is to be in the word of God constantly for direction and warnings!

“For the time is coming when people will not have patience for sound teaching, but will cater to their passions and gather around themselves teachers who say whatever their ears itch to hear.”
2 Timothy 4:3 CJB

Today, more than ever we need to be in the word of God and doing what it instructs us to do!
Have a blessed day digging into God’s word!

Forgive

“Maybe Adonai will notice how I’m treating him, and Adonai will reward me with good instead of his curses.”
2 Samuel 16:12 CJB

Here we see this relative of Saul cursing and throwing things at David, but instead of yelling and throwing things back David just lets it go! We should do the same when someone says or posts something negative towards us or about us, instead of retaliating just let it go!

“Stop dwelling on past events and brooding over times gone by.”
Isaiah 43:18 CJB

We can all dwell on things that happen to us, but the best thing to do is just let it go and move on!

“For if you forgive others their offenses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
Matthew 6:14 CJB

Today, don’t try to hold onto some right of retribution, but instead forgive, let it go and move on!
Have a blessed day forgiving others as Adonai has forgiven you!

Don’t be deceived

“This is how Avshalom behaved toward anyone in Israel who came to the king for judgment, and this way Avshalom stole the hearts of the people of Israel.”
2 Samuel 15:6 CJB

Like in the days of David, nothing really has changed. We have leaders who are deceptive and deceive the people! We see that in the church, politics and in media, people deceiving for greed and power! We all need to be on guard!

“For men like these are not serving our LORD the Messiah but their own belly; by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the innocent.”
Romans 16:8 CJB

The scriptures warn us over and over about deceptive people who are only out to enrich themselves! The best way to be aware of these things is by being in the scriptures!

“You reject all who stray from your laws, for what they deceive themselves with is false.”
Psalm 119:118 CJB

Today, we need to always be on-guard, watching and praying about all we see and hear! The world is full of deception and the safest place to be is with and in the word of God!
Have a blessed day!
