Shine for Adonai

“Omri did what was evil from Adonai’s perspective, outdoing all his predecessors in wickedness; for he lived entirely in the manner of Yarov`am (Jeroboam) the son of N’vat (Nebat), committing the sins with which he made Israel sin, thereby angering Adonai the God of Israel with their worthless idols.”
1 Kings 16:25-26 CJB

Omri, according to these verses, was the worst of the worst! What did he do? He made it ok to sacrifice children to the god Baal. He made it ok to practice temple prostitution to Ashtoreth and allowing the mutilation of children to Moloch! We see the same going on around us today with leaders in the free world celebrating these practices! Sadly, it’s the same demonic gods pushing this sin, just with different names! What are we to do!

“Be strong, be bold, don’t be afraid or frightened of them, for Adonai your God is going with you. He will neither fail you nor Abandon you.”
Deuteronomy 31:6 CJB

The world around is as dark and sinful as in the days of Omri, but we are not called to hide and be quiet about it! Instead we are called to be bold and shine the light of Adonai!

“In the same way, let your light shine before people, so that they may see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16 CJB

We all need to be looking for opportunities to reflect the glorious light of Adonai on a world that is getting increasingly worse!
Have a blessed day reflecting the light of Adonai on the darkness of the world!
