Being silent is sometimes better!

“But Jesus still answered nothing, so Pilate marveled.”

Mark 15:5

We should take heed to this verse, and in many situations we should just not respond! Not every accusation against us or post needs a response from us, often times we are better off keeping silent!

“Oh, that you would be silent, And it would be wisdom!”

Job 13:5

As you go through the day there will be all kinds of situations, conversations and places to make a comment. Many of them we should just keep silent on, don’t answer don’t comment! Instead let us pray, talk to the LORD and wait for His response!

“Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.”

James 3:10

So let us really mind what we say and do, pray before we speak! Let us be more like Jesus and answer nothing and just be kind! Have a blessed day seeking the LORD before we speak!

Watch and pray!

“For the LORD had caused the army of the Syrians to hear the noise of chariots and the noise of horses – the noise of a great army; so they said to one another, Look, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians to attack us!”

2 Kings 7:6

Here we see the mighty Syrian army ready to attack Jerusalem, and the LORD intervenes and deals with it! Same for us when the pressure of the world comes upon us the LORD will intervene!

“The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Psalm 118:6

No matter what is going on in our lives, good or bad. No matter what is going on in the world around wars, poverty or social disorder. We need to remember the LORD is in control and He has us covered!

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

Today don’t let the situations around you control you, look to the LORD instead and know He has you covered! Let us be a people who “Watch and pray” not watch and complain or watch and make opinions! Have a blessed day with the LORD!

Be careful of pride!

“But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, Indeed, I said to myself, He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.”

2 Kings 5:11

Here we see Naaman the Syrian who has leprosy and desires to be healed, but he wants it to be done his way grand and ceremonial. When it doesn’t happen he gets angry, his real sin here is pride which we all suffer from at one time or the other!

“But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: GOD RESISTS THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.”

James 4:6

Remember this as you go out into the day making comments like if everyone drove like me the roads would be great! If everyone loved and worshipped like me the world would be amazing! Part of pride is making everything about us, It’s all about me! Realize it’s not!

“Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable.”

Psalm 145:3

The greatness of the LORD is unending, the more you search the greater it gets! Don’t get caught up in the leprosy of life (pride), But instead get caught up in the LORD. Have a blessed day doing things His way!

Look to the LORD

“So he set it before them; and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the LORD.”

2 Kings 4:44

Anytime we just simply do what the word of the LORD tells us, no matter how silly it may sound, it comes to pass!

“Keep my commands and live, And my law as the apple of your eye.”

Proverbs 7:2

We can and do get advice from people, talk shows and self help books to name a few things, but skip spending time with the LORD! We will always get the best advice and direction from the LORD, so dig into His word!

“If you love Me, keep my commandments.”

John 14:15

Today spend some time in the word of the LORD read it, meditate on it and pray about how it can be applied to your day!

“Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.”

Psalm 119:105

Have a blessed day looking to the LORD and His word for instruction, direction and maybe correction today!

Walk in the light!

“This shall be the law of the leper for the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought to the priest.”

Leviticus 14:2

We all have the disease of sin, in one way or the other! The sins that we can and do commit are way to numerous to list, but we are all guilty and need the LORD!

“As for me, I will call upon God. And the LORD shall save me.”

Psalm 55:16

The only way out of darkness is to walk in the light of the LORD!

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?”

Psalm 27:1

Today don’t be caught up in the leprous darkness of the world, but instead let us walk in the glorious light of the LORD!

Have a blessed day and week!
