Live righteously

“From the day that the ark arrived in Kiryat-Ye`arim a long time elapsed, twenty years; and all the people yearned for Adonai.”
1 Samuel 7:2 CJB

The Ark comes back to Israel, but for twenty years the children of Israel continued in sin! God is so good, that even when we are deep in sin, He patiently waits for us to come back to our senses and desire Him!

“Don’t be fooled. Bad company ruins good character. Come to your senses! Live righteously and stop sinning! There are some people who lack knowledge of God–I say this to your shame.”
1 Corinthians 15:33-34 CJB

God really doesn’t want us hanging out with sinners or living in sin! Why? Because they will always lead us astray and keep us in bondage! He wants us to be free in Him!

“How blessed are those who reject the advice of the wicked, don’t stand on the ways of sinners or sit where scoffers sit!”
Psalm 1:1 CJB

We will always be better off when we reject evil and cling to God, who will always lead us in His righteous ways!
Have a blessed day clinging to Adonai walking in His ways!
Shabbat Shalom!

Make the right choice!

“So make models of your tumors and models of your rats that are infesting your land, and show respect to the God of Israel. Maybe He will stop oppressing you, your gods and your land.”
1 Samuel 6:5 CJB

A couple of things here! First: no matter what, know your sins will find you out and payment of one thing or the other will happen!

“But if you will not do this, then you have sinned against Adonai, and you must understand that your sin will find you out.”
Numbers 32:23 CJB

The second is: we all have choices to make, either just pay the price of sin, which you never can! Look, the Philistines had to make gold objects that reflected the results of their sins! The other choice we can make is repent and you’re forgiven by God, who paid the ultimate price for your sins and live in the freedom of His free gift of salvation!

“He has not treated us as our sins deserve or paid us back for our offenses, because His mercy toward those who fear Him is as far above earth as heaven. He has removed our sins from us as far as the east is from the west.”
Psalm 103:10-12 CJB

Let’s make the second choice here by simply repenting and walk in the grace and mercy of God!
Have a blessed day walking in His Salvation!
Shabbat Shalom!

Seek God

“When the people of Ashdod came to understand what was happening, they said, The ark of the God of Israel can’t remain with us, because He is oppressing us and our god Dagon.”
1 Samuel 5:7 CJB

Nothing has changed. The world still wants God out of everything! Why? Because they believe removing God allows them to do as they please!

“For the time is coming when people will not have patience for sound teaching, but will cater to their passions and gather around themselves teachers who say whatever their ears itch to hear.”
2 Timothy 4:3 CJB

Again, nothing has really changed. Many people not only reject God, but reject anything that has to do with Him and want Him out of every aspect of life! What do we need to do!

When you seek me, you will find me, provided you seek for Me wholeheartedly.”
Jeremiah 29:13 CJB

So the more the world rejects God, the more we need to seek Him every chance we get!
Have a blessed day seeking God!

Trust Adonai

“When the ark for the covenant of Adonai entered the camp, all Israel gave a mighty shout that resounded through the land.”
1 Samuel 4:5 CJB

At this time the people were doing what ever they thought was right and then thought the ark was going to save them, instead of trusting in God!

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we praise the name of Adonai our God.”
Psalm 20:7 CJB

What do we trust in? Is it the world’s resources or is it Adonai? The help we get from the world will fail us unless Adonai is in it!

“Give victory, to Adonai! Let the King answer us the day we call.”
Psalm 20:9 CJB

Understand, we will have battles in life and when we call on Adonai we can always count on Him to get us through!
Have a blessed day in Adonai!

Rebuke with love

“For I have told him that I will execute judgment against his family forever, because of his wickedness in not rebuking his sons, even though he knew that they had brought a curse on themselves.”
1 Samuel 3:13 CJB

Eli’s sons blasphemed God and he said and did nothing to stop them! Understand we are not responsible for what our adult children do, but if we say nothing and don’t take a stand we are part of the problem!

“The rod and rebuke give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame on his mother.”
Proverbs 29:15 CJB

Scripture tells us to rebuke our children when they are being ungodly!

“Eli’s sons were scoundrels who had no regard for Adonai.”
1 Samuel 2:12 CJB

Look, if we have children, family members or friends acting like fools and scoundrels, and we can’t lovingly rebuke them, what’s that say about us?

“My brothers, if one of you wanders from the truth, and someone causes him to return, you should know that whoever turns a sinner from his wandering path will save him from death and cover many sins.”
James 5:19-20 CJB

So let’s be looking out for those we love and encourage them in Adonai, even if that means lovingly rebuking them! Remember the key word is lovingly!
Have a blessed day!
