“And through they say, ‘As Adonai lives,’ the fact is that they are swearing falsely.”
Jeremiah 5:2 CJB

There are so many people out there who say the same things, “as God lives or it’s the will of God” that swear falsely, they really don’t believe in God! The problem with many of these people is that as soon as hard times hit they run from God! Why? Because they really have no real belief in God!

“Hear this, stupid brainless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear: Don’t you fear Me?-says Adonai. Won’t you tremble at My presence? I made the shore the limit for the sea; by eternal decree it cannot pass. Its waves may toss, but to no avail; although they roar, they cannot cross it.”
Jeremiah 5:21-22 CJB

Jeremiah uses some strong language here! Why? Because the people claimed to be God’s people, but acted like the pagan world around them, no different than many so called believers today! What are we to do? REPENT!

“But I will call on God, and Adonai will save me.”
Psalm 55:16 CJB

We all need to understand that we can’t act like the world and then claim we are walking with God! Today, let’s choose to walk with Adonai and walk in His ways! Anything else is just being stupid!

If we are honest, we all know we have wicked thoughts and we need to keep ourselves in check constantly!

“The heart is more deceitful than anything else and mortally sick. Who can fathom it?”
Jeremiah 17:9 CJB

Sadly our hearts can be wicked and what is sadder is we try to justify our wickedness, even with scripture! That is what the enemy does, be careful of the traps of the enemy!

“Now the serpent was more crafty than any wild animal which Adonai, God, had made. He said to the woman, Did God really say, ‘You are not to eat from any tree in the garden’?”
Genesis 3:1 CJB

We all need to be careful of the enemy! Why? Because he is craftier than all of us and is always looking for ways to cast doubt, deceive and cause havoc in our lives!

“Stay sober, stay alert! Your enemy, the Adversary, stalks about like a lion looking for someone to devour.”
1 Peter 5:8 CJB

Today, with all the evil in the world and knowing our hearts can be wicked, we need to be very vigilant and on guard!
So pray for people, encourage one another and keep your eyes focused on Adonai!

“Return, backsliding children, and I will heal your backsliding. Here we are, we are coming to You, for You are Adonai our God.”
Jeremiah 3:22 CJB

Understand, that God always wants us to return to Him because we have a habit of drifting away!

“I will give Them a heart to know Me that I am Adonai. They will be My people, and I will be their God; for they will return to Me with all their heart.”
Jeremiah 24:7 CJB

Jewish people look at salvation as returning unto God, because they belonged to Him to begin with and they have wandered away!

“Then I will teach the wicked Your ways, and sinners will return to You.”
Psalm 51:15 CJB

So today, if you feel like you’ve wandered away from Adonai, then today, is a good day to return to Him!

“Your own wickedness will correct you, your own backsliding will convict you; you know and see how bad and bitter it was to abandon Adonai your God, and how fear of Me is not in you, says Adonai Elohim-Tzva’ot.”
Jeremiah 2:19 CJB

Two things here! One: it is true that our own sins will eventually correct us. If we keep sinning without repenting, our sins will eventually catch up with us! Also, everyone knows when they are doing something wrong!

“But if you will not do this, then you have sinned against Adonai, and you must understand that your sin will find you out.”
Numbers 32:23 CJB

Second: people don’t fear God, even so—called believers don’t! They believe that they can just act like the sinful world and get away with it, because they have no fear of God!

“The fear of Adonai is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy Ones is understanding.”
Proverbs 9:10 CJB

We need to realize when we fear living without Adonai is when we really start gaining His wisdom and attaining His knowledge! So if you are doing something wrong, repent and have a healthy fear of Adonai, realize you can’t live without Him!

God is saying to Jeremiah, don’t worry about the fact that you’re going to be resisted and harassed by people for telling them to repent! God tells us to do the same thing share the Good News of Salvation, even though you will be resisted and harassed, don’t worry because God is with you!

“Haven’t I ordered you, ‘Be strong, be bold’? So don’t be afraid or downhearted, because Adonai your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9 CJB

We don’t need to worry about what people think! Why? Because Adonai is with us every step of the way and He will put the words we need in our mouths! So we have nothing to fear!

“Adonai is my light and salvation; whom do I need fear? Adonai is the stronghold of my life; of whom should I be afraid?”
Psalm 27:1 CJB

We really are blessed that we have the Creator of the Universe right by our side!
So don’t worry about what the world can throw at you! Because God goes before you and walks with you guiding and directing you!
