God is going to destroy all pagan places of worship and their idols! We need to realize false gods will never save us, they will only destroy us!

“Around noon Eliyahu began ridiculing them: Shout louder! After all, he’s a god, isn’t he? Maybe he’s daydreaming, or he’s on the potty, or he’s away on a trip. Maybe he’s asleep, and you have to wake him.”
1 Kings 18:27 CJB

This is always the deal with false gods they are made by human hands out of God–made materials and they will never answer you! Why? Because they are not real! But God, on the other, hand is living, breathing and in full control! We have nothing to be afraid of when we are looking to Him for all our needs!

“My help comes from Adonai, the maker of Heaven and Earth. He will not let your foot slip-your guardian is not asleep. No, the Guardian of Israel never slumbers or sleeps.”
Psalm 121:2-4 CJB

Realize, God never sleeps, but on the other hand, we are the ones slumbering and sleeping! So don’t look to false idols, but look to Adonai, who is in control of all things!

In other words, don’t be afraid of the government. Especially in this day when we worry about taxes and government control! Instead trust in Adonai!

“Trust in Adonai with all your heart; do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him; then He will level your paths.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 CJB

We put our trust in so many things that, in the end, really can’t help us! But when we trust and acknowledge God, all things really do seem to work out!

“If I raise my eyes to the hills, from where will my help come? My help comes from Adonai, the maker of Heaven and Earth.”
Psalm 121:1-2 CJB

Yes, all our help comes from Adonai. Anything that is good comes from Him! So let’s trust God and look to Him for all our needs!

We all need to be careful when things get tough, not to run to the world! This is what these guys are doing. Things got sticky and they are off to Egypt! We need to run to Adonai at the first sign of trouble!

“I call on Adonai, who is worthy of praise; and I am saved from my enemies.”
2 Samuel 22:4 CJB

Just like David, who knew a thing or two about trials and the world falling apart around him! He knew whom He could call on and go to to save Him!

“But I will call on God, and Adonai will save me.”
Psalm 55:9 CJB

Life can be hard and full of trials. The best place we can go for help is to Adonai. It’s actually the only place!

“The commander of the guard took Yirmeyahu and said to him, Adonai your God decreed this disaster for this place, and Adonai has brought it about; He has done what He said He would do, because you people sinned against Adonai and did not listen to what He said; that is why this has come upon you.”

Even the pagan captain here understands that God said what He would do to Judah, because of their disobedience! Understand, God means what He says and says what He means! If you love God, then just obey what He says!

“If you love Me, you will keep My commands.”
John 14:15 CJB

When we love someone, we will listen to them and try to make them happy by doing what they say. So if we love Adonai, we really should be striving to do what He says!

“For loving God means obeying His commands. Moreover, His commands are not burdensome.”
1 John 5:3 CJB

The commands of Adonai are not a burden, but to help us walk on His right path and to do things His way, not ours! Remember, His ways keep us out of messes, our ways get us into messes!

God will always get us through! All we need to do is trust!

Unfortunately we get so caught up in what we can see first, then to just simply trust and believe! Not a lot of faith in seeing first! Let’s just trust without seeing. That is what Father Abraham did when God called him to go to a place I will show you!

“Now Adonai said Avram, get yourself out of your country, away from your kinsmen and away from your father’s house, and go to the land that I will show you.”
Genesis 12:1 CJB

Like Abraham, we need to step out in faith! Even when it doesn’t make sense, we just need to trust Adonai will get us through!
