Can’t serve two masters!

“For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, And hewn themselves cisterns – broken cisterns that can hold no water.”

Jeremiah 2:13

We can’t serve the world and the LORD, this is what was happening in Jeremiah’s day and we see it happening around us today!

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”

Matthew 6:24

When we are serving the LORD and following hard after Him, walking in His ways doing what He says life is always better! We may have problems and obstacles, but the LORD always gets us through!

“Have you not brought this on yourself, In that you have forsaken the LORD your God when He led you in the way?”

Jeremiah 2:17

In other words many of the problems we face today are of our own doing! When we are walking in the ways of the LORD we can avoid many of them! So today let us really look to the LORD for everything, because it is He who gets us through!

Shabbat Shalom.

Boundaries

“Command the children of Israel, and say to them: When you come into the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance – the land of Canaan to its boundaries.”

Numbers 34:2

The Lord really does want us to have boundaries with the world and worldliness! He wants us to be careful of what we come in contact with!

“Therefore do not defile the land which you inhabit, in the midst of which I dwell; for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel.”

Numbers 35:34

It’s good to take a look in the mirror from time to time! Is the land we dwell in changing us to be worldly or godly? If we are looking and sounding more like the world, then we may need to change our boundaries!

“These are the commandments and judgements which the LORD commanded the children of Israel by the hand of Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho.”

Numbers 36:13

We will always be better off when we are in the word of the LORD! Taking it in, Praying it through and then applying it to our lives!

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

John 14:15

Today lets make godly boundaries, watch where we dwell and keep and apply the word of the LORD! Have a blessed day!

Life is a journey.

“These are the journeys of the children of Israel, who went out of the land of Egypt by their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.”

Numbers 33:1

We may look at this chapter and think it’s kind of boring just a bunch of names and places where the children of Israel traveled! But what we need to realize is the LORD was with them every step of the way! Like us our daily life can seem ordinary and boring, but the LORD is with us all the way.

“Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.”

Hebrews 13:5

What we need to realize is the LORD is always with us everywhere we go, no matter how exciting or boring it maybe! So stay focused on what the LORD is doing with you, don’t be coveting what other people may have or not have!

“This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”

Psalm 118:24

Realize today is the day that the LORD has made, and it is perfect! Also know that the LORD is with you every step of the way! Rejoice and have a blessed day!

Don’t wander!

“For if you turn away from following Him, He will once again leave them in the wilderness, and you will destroy all these people.”

Numbers 32:15 NKJV

Anytime we choose not to follow the LORD, and do our own thing we end up in the wilderness of life; Wandering around aimlessly!

“And besides they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house, and not only idle but also gossips and busybodies saying things which which they ought not.”

1 Timothy 5:13 NKJV

One of the keys to a fruitful life is to be in the word of the LORD, hearing and doing what it says! Taking in a steady diet of God’s word will always keep us from wandering in the wilderness of the world.

“Without prophetic vision, the people throw off all restraint; but he who keeps Torah (Gods instructions) is happy.”

Proverbs 29:18 CJB

Let us follow hard after the LORD today! Have a blessed day in Him.

Wash in His word

“Purify every garment, everything made of leather, everything woven of goats hair, and everything made of wood.”

Numbers 31:20

It took God one night to take the children of Israel out of Egypt and forty years to take Egypt out of Israel! The same goes for us we need to be washing ourselves in the water of His word daily!

“But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.”

Psalm 1:2

The way to stay washed is by being in the word of the LORD, not the news feed of the world! Have His praises, His word being played and heard everywhere you go!

“He shall be like a tree Planted by rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.”

Psalm 1:3

Today let us purify and wash ourselves in the water of His word, have a blessed day!
