Be on guard!

“Meanwhile, the king covered his face and cried aloud, Oh, my son Avshalom! Oh, Avshalom, my son, my son!”
2 Samuel 19:5 CJB

David took mourning to a very foolish level here! He shows more compassion for Avshalom, who wanted nothing more than to kill him than his son who died at birth! He also had less compassion for the people who stood by him while he was hunted and the people we getting disheartened!

“Yoav went inside to the king and said, Today you made your servants feel ashamed. They saved your life today, and the lives of your sons, daughters, wives and concubines.”
2 Samuel 19:6 CJB

Do we get so self absorbed that we forget others? We see this happening all around us, people losing their minds over people and situations regardless of how bad they may be hurting their own families and friends!

“Stay sober, stay alert! Your enemy, the Adversary, stalks about like roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
1 Peter 5:8 CJB

Be alert and on guard. The enemy is out there stirring up trouble, making people act crazy and do things that are completely out of the norm! Remember, Satan is a deceiver and a troublemaker!
So keep your eyes on Yeshua!

Pray before you speak

“The king asked, Is everything all right with young Avshalom? Achima’atz answered, When Yoav sent the king’s servant and me your servant, I saw a big commotion; but I didn’t know what it was.”
2 Samuel 18:29 CJB

Whether Achima`atz knew that Avvshalom was dead or not, his main goal was to be acknowledged by the king to be the first with the news, even though he only had part of it! We all need to be careful of speaking whether we have something to say or no, especially if we don’t have all the facts! We see this happening all around us today, people speaking, protesting or just being divisive just to be heard!

“Don’t speak impulsively-don’t be in a hurry to give voice to your words before God. For God is in heaven, and you are on earth; so let your words be few.”
Ecclesiastes 5:1 CJB Verse 2 in other translations

In other words don’t speak or make decisions under stress or emotion! Why? Often times we make wrong decisions, give wrong or incomplete information and definitely say wrong things when we are under emotional stress!

“Out of the same mouth come blessings and cursing! Brothers, it isn’t right for things to be this way.”
James 3:10 CJB

So we need to be prayerful, mindful and careful of what we say and do! So let’s be praying and waiting for Adonai to give us direction on the right things to say!
Have a blessed day!
Shabbat Shalom!

Be alert

“I’ll fall on him unexpectedly when he’s tired and powerless. I’ll frighten him, all the people with him will flee, and I’ll attack only the king.”
2 Samuel 17:2 CJB

This is what evil does! It keeps attacking until you’re worn out and give up then they will overwhelm you! Remember it’s just a bunch noise!

“Like a roaring lion or a bear prowling for food is a wicked ruler over a poor people.”
Proverbs 28:15 CJB

This is how the enemy works! It keeps attacking to wear you out and take you down! What do we do? Look to Yeshua!

“Stay sober, stay alert! Your enemy, the Adversary, stalks about like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
1 Peter 5:8 CJB

The idea here is to be on guard keep watching and praying, knowing the enemy is out there ready to pounce on you! The good news is Yeshua has us covered, but we still need to be on guard, so stay alert!
Shabbat Shalom!
