Repent

“But then he withdrew his hand, and his brother came out; so she said, How did you manage to break out first? Therefore he was named Peretz [breaking out].”
Genesis 38:29 CJB

What is interesting here is this is the first of the twins born out of prostitution and incest to Tamar and Judah, they are in the direct genealogy of King David and Yeshua!
Ruth 4:18-22 and Matthew 1:3,
This shows the grace and mercy of God!

” God, in Your grace, have mercy on me; in your great compassion, blot out my crimes.”
Psalm 51:3 CJB

We see how bad David blew it here: adultery and murder, but he knew if he repented, God will forgive which is the key to salvation!

“Look to Me, and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God; there is no other.”
Isaiah 45:22 CJB

If you truly want salvation, then all you have to do is look to God to be saved and repent (return in Hebrew)!
So no matter what you have done, if you simply call on God and repent, He is faithful and just to save!
May your day be richly blessed!
Shabbat Shalom!

Here I am!

“Israel asked Yoseph (Joseph), Aren’t your brothers pasturing the sheep in Sh’khem (Shechem)? Come, I will send you to them. He answered, Here I am.”
Genesis 37:13 CJB

Yoseph heard His father and then he was very obedient to him and went as he directed him!
We should do the same when our Father in Heaven calls us, we should respond with here I am!

“Going on a little farther, He fell on His face, praying, My Father, if possible, let this cup pass from Me! Yet-not what I want, but what you want!”
Matthew 26:39 CJB

If Yeshua can do and obey what our Father in Heaven commands, so should we!

“Bless Adonai, you angels of His, you mighty warriors who obey His word, who carry out His orders!”
Psalm 103:20 CJB

Life is always going to be better when we hear and obey Adonai!
Have a blessed day obeying Adonai!
Shabbat Shalom!

Pray not to be ordinary

“Following are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king had reigned over the people of Israel.”
Genesis 36:31 CJB

Here we see a prophecy that Israel would eventually demand a king, to be like the nations around them! Understand the nations around Israel are pagan, why would God’s chosen people desire to be like the world? Let’s be aware of this!

“Sh’mu’el (Samuel) was not pleased to hear them say, Give us a king to judge us; so he prayed to Adonai.”
1 Samuel 8:6 CJB

God appointed judges to give the instructions and guidance from Adonai, the ultimate King! But instead the people wanted to be like all the ordinary nations around them and install a king from among the people. We need to be careful of doing the same thing, allowing the leaders of the world to guide and direct our lives! How do we do this? Pray!

“When you call to Me and pray to Me, I will listen to you.”
Jeremiah 29:12 CJB

What comforting words that when we seek God and pray to Him, He doesn’t only hear us, He answers us!
May your day be richly blessed as you call out to Adonai!

We are His children

“God said to him, Your name is Yaakov (Jacob), but you will be called Yaakov no longer; your name will be Israel. Thus He named him Israel.”
Genesis 35:10 CJB

Just like Ya`akov (Jacob, heal snatcher, trickster) God has changed our name when we repented and became His! He changes who we were to who we are in Him, His children!

“Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; before, you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”
1 Peter 2:10 CJB

We all were once lost in the world, doing ungodly things. Now we are the people of God, called by His holy name!

“But now this is what Adonai says, He who created you, Ya`akov, he who formed you, Israel: Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you; I am calling by your name; you are mine.”
Isaiah 43:1 CJB

When you belong to God, we take on His name like Ya`akov, Jeremiah and Daniel all their names mean God or Yah is my judge or I’m governed by Him! The same goes for us we are called His children, so let us walk in His ways and share His Good News of Salvation today!

Deal with sin!

“They said to them, We can’t do it, because it would be a disgrace to give our sister to someone who hasn’t been circumcised.”
Genesis 34:14 CJB

The problem here is that the sin of rape is never dealt with! We see that we go from one sin, rape, to another sin, deception, and then finally murder! Often times when we overlook things and don’t deal with them, then sin just grows!

“Don’t delude yourselves: no one makes a fool of God! A person reaps what he sows.”
Galatians 6:7 CJB

When we sow sin and don’t deal with it (weed it out), then it has a tendency grow and even overcome you!

“But if you will not do this, then you have sinned against Adonai, and you must understand that your sin will find you out.”
Numbers 32:23 CJB

We all know when we are doing something wrong! What we need to do is deal with it and weed it out before it grows to be something larger and out of control!
Have a blessed day weeding out sin in your own life!
