Do what the LORD says

“And keep charge of the LORD your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn.”

1 Kings 2:3

Here David is about to die and is giving Solomon the best advice he could ever give: LISTEN to the LORD! This also is good advice for us, It is a theme throughout scripture, do what the LORD says and life will always work out better! Do your own thing, your own way and life is full of messes and disasters!

If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

John 14:15

When we love the LORD, keeping and doing what He says is a get to, not a have to!

“Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways.”

Psalm 128:1

Today, get into the word of the LORD, allow Him to increase in your life, so we can decrease, less of ourselves and more of the LORD is always going to be better!

Have a blessed day in Him!

God is in every situation

“You meant to do me harm, but God meant it for good-so that it would come about as it is today, with many lives being saved.”

Genesis 50:20 CJB

Joseph’s brothers really did want to kill him, but instead threw him into a pit then sold him into slavery. They meant it for evil, but God had other plans, the plans of the LORD always meant to save!

“For I know the plans I have in mind for you,’ says the LORD,’ plans for well-being, not for bad things; so that you can have hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11 CJB

Today, if we just focus on our situations, the things that happen in life, that’s all we will see. Instead, just focus on and look to the LORD, because every situation we get caught up in, He has a good outcome planned!

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

Romans 8:28 NKJB

Let’s look for the LORD in everything today, He is there, we just have to look and listen for Him! Whether you’re dealing with health, wealth or a relationship, don’t look at the situation, but look for the LORD!

Have a blessed seeking the LORD!

Look for the blessings

“By God of your father who will help you, And by the Almighty who will bless you with blessings of heaven above, Blessings of the deep that lies beneath, Blessings of the breasts and of the womb.”

Genesis 49:25

Though this is a blessing for Joseph and his two sons, we also can glean from it!

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”

2 Timothy 3:16

When we read, study and pray through the word of God, we should be either corrected (in what we are doing wrong), comforted (in the situations we may be in), confirmed (in the directions we are going) or encouraged (in what the LORD is doing). These are just some thoughts to help you today!

But, notice in this verse it says: ‘it is God who will help you’, He is always working things out! Blessings from heaven above, we get rain that gives water to drink and to water our crops for food to eat. Blessings of the deep, we get minerals (gold, silver and steel) oil for fuel. Then blessings of life, the LORD really has given us so much, we just need to look!

“Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me.”

Micah 7:7

Today, don’t look at the situation you may be in as good or bad. Instead, look for the LORD in every situation. He is there ready to comfort, correct, confirm and encourage. He is willing and able to bless us, so let us look to Him! Have a blessed day!

All that really matters is the LORD

“And he blessed Joseph, and said: God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The God who has fed me all my life long to this day.”

Genesis 48:15

Here we see in Jacob’s last days he is giving the answers to life: it’s the LORD who provides! All the answers we seek can be found in the LORD. The closer we get to the end of this life’s journey, the thing that matters the most is the LORD!

“The earth is the LORD’S, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.”

Psalm 24:1

Don’t get caught up in the problems of life, whatever they may be! Listen to what Jacob is saying here: “God has fed me all my days.”

“For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.”

Psalm 107:9

The LORD always comes through in due time, really right on time!

“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Jesus.”

Philippians 4:19

Today, don’t focus on the problem, but focus on the LORD! Jacob didn’t say walk in the world, but instead walk with the LORD, He has it all under control and all we have to do is walk with Him! Have a blessed day walking with the LORD!

Get caught up in the LORD

“When the time drew near that Israel must die, he called his son Joseph and said to him, Now if I have found favor in your sight, please put your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me. Please do not bury me in Egypt.”

Genesis 47:29 NKJB

Here we see Jacob (Israel) realize He is going to die and move on to be with the LORD after he has been living in Egypt seventeen years. What he realizes is that Egypt

(the world) looks attractive and doesn’t want his family to stay. He wants to be buried in the promised land Israel, so his kids will follow!

“Do not love the world or the things of the world. If someone loves the world, then love for the Father is not in him; because all things of the world-the desires of the old nature, the desires of the eyes, and the pretensions of life-are not from the Father but from the world. And the world is passing away, along with its desires. But whoever does God’s will remains forever.”

1 John 2:15-17 CJB

Now it takes 400+ years for the children of Israel to get to the promised land and it may take 10, 20, 30 or more years for us. But, our focus needs to be the LORD and His kingdom not the world and its messes!

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?”

Psalm 27:1 NKJB

Yes, we have to walk in the world, but we don’t have to take part in it! As believers we need to be living for the LORD, walking in His ways and desiring to reflect His love, so people around us can get a glimpse of the promised land! This will also keep us focused on the LORD! Have a blessed day looking for the LORD!
