We all need to be careful how we interact with the world around us! The problem many believers have is they forget that we are just passing through, not digging in! When we get comfortable in the world is when we start to serve its gods!

“If it seems bad to youth serve Adonai, then choose today whom you are going to serve! Will it be the gods your ancestors served beyond the River? Or the gods of Emori, in whose land you are living? As for me and my household, we will serve Adonai!”
Joshua 24:15 CJB

Still a great question to ask ourselves today! Who do you serve? God or man made gods?

“Serve Adonai with gladness. Enter His presence with joyful songs.”
Psalm 100:2 CJB

Today, with all the distractions going on around us, let’s not forget that we need to serve and worship Adonai!

Yes we are set apart for Adonai to be His special holy people, not ordinary like the rest of the world! The world around us acts like wild animals and we need to be separated from them!

“But you are a chosen people, the King’s cohanim, a holy nation, a people for God to possess! Why? In order for you to declare the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.”
1 Peter 2:9 CJB

We always need to be reminded of this: God has chosen us out of the world to be His representatives (ambassadors) to the world!

“I, Adonai, called you righteously, I took hold of you by the hand, I shaped you and made a covenant for the people, to be a light for the Goyim (Nations), so that you can open blind eyes, free the prisoners from confinement, those living in darkness from the dungeon.”
Isaiah 42: 6-7 CJB

Like the Jewish people, Adonai called us to be separate from the world to be light and share about His glorious Good News of Salvation!

“If you purchase a Hebrew slave, he is to work six years; but in the seventh, he is to be given freedom without having to pay anything.”

Interesting that the first law is to treat slaves with decency! Why? The Hebrews were mistreated slaves for four hundred years and God has no desire for men to be slaves, that’s why we have freedom in Him!

“What the Messiah has freed us for is freedom! Therefore, stand firm, and don’t let yourselves be tied up again to a yoke of slavery.”
Galatians 5:1 CJB

Adonai has freed us from slavery so we can be free from the bondage of sin! So we no longer have to be bound up and slaves of sin! Yeshua has set us free!

“Come to Me, all of you who are struggling and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30 CJB

God is telling us that His way is easy and we are always better off doing all things His way!
So let’s walk in His ways today!

“If you make me Me an altar of stone, you are not to build it of cut stones; for if you use a tool on it, you profane it.”
Exodus 20:22 CJB

The point God is making here is don’t try to build an ornate building for Him! Why? God doesn’t need an ornate building! I wonder if we have been building buildings that God is not exactly pleased with?

“Heaven is My throne, says Adonai, and the earth is My footstool. What kind of house could you build for me? What sort of place could you devise for My rest?”
Isaiah 66:1 CJB

Don’t misunderstand we should go to a place (building) for Bible study and worship with other believers! But do we over spend and make the building more important than God?

“But can God actually live on earth? Why, Heaven itself, even the Heavens, cannot contain You; so how much less this house I have built?”
1 Kings 8:27 CJB

Understand! We can’t contain God, so don’t try! We need to worship God everywhere and anywhere we go!

God really wants us to be ready for His soon return! Are we ready? Or are we complacent living in worldly unclean ways!

“You too, be ready! For the Son of Man will come when you are not expecting Him.”

This is one of the most important themes in scripture, being ready and being aware of the times we are living in! So we need to be constantly watching and praying!

“Stay alert! Be on guard! For you do not know when the time will come.”
Mark 13:33 CJB

Only Adonai nows the day and the hour, but we know the times and seasons, so we need to stay alert and be ready!
