Here Nehemiah is saying to the troublemakers around Israel, “you’re making things up, they’re nothing but liars”! Sound familiar? Nothing is new today. Nonbelievers make up nothing but lies about believers, so be on guard!

“I will stand at my watch post; I will station myself on the rampart. I will look to see what [God] will say through me and what I will answer when I am reproved.”
Habbakuk 2:1 CJB

We all need to be watchmen and women on the wall, so to speak, watching for the LORD and doing what He guides us through His word to do! Don’t get caught up in watching and sharing the junk of the world, because the world is full of lies and deceit!

“Seek Adonai and His strength; always seek His presence.”
1 Chronicles 16:11 CJB

Today, don’t get caught up in the lies and nonsense of the world, but instead be caught up in the LORD! Let’s be watching, seeking and sharing the good news of the LORD and His salvation!

How will you perish? By following things other than the LORD, which will always lead you to destruction! Remember, it is the LORD who blesses us and gives us all our needs!

“I call on Adonai, who is worthy of praise; and I am saved from my enemies.”
2 Samuel 22:4 CJB

It’s the LORD who saves us as a result of us simply calling on His name and believing who He is, LORD!

“Give thanks to the LORD of LORDS, for His grace continues forever.”
Psalm 136:3 CJB

Today, don’t forget how good the LORD is. Everything good that happens is a result of how good He is! Remember, we are saved and this world is not our home!

What we see going on here is the people of Israel were acting just like the godless people around them. We also can fall in to this same trap! The answer is DON’T!

“Eliyahu (Elijah) stepped forward before all the people and said, How long are you going to jump back and forth between two positions? If Adonai is God, follow Him; but if it’s Ba’al, follow him! The people answered him not a word.”
1 Kings 18:21 CJB

Why didn’t they answer? Because they had been caught red handed serving the godless world! We all need to be careful of what we get sucked into! Remember, the LORD always has a way out for us!

“No one can be slave to two masters; for he will either hate the first and love the second, or scorn the second and be loyal to the first. You can’t be a slave to both God and money.”
Matthew 6:24 CJB

Today, realize we need to be living for the LORD! We can’t dance in two weddings, we can’t have two spouses. We need to fear the LORD and serve Him only!

What a great motto to have, “Pray and watch.” That’s what we get to do, it’s what we need to be doing! Be careful of watching and making opinions!

“Stay alert! Be on guard! For you do not know when the time will come.”

We as, believers, need to be on guard, watching what is going on and praying about it, not reacting! The problem we have is we watch and react instead of praying!

“Pray regularly.”
1 Thessalonians 5:17 CJB

Prayer is the biggest weapon we have as believers. The problem is, it’s the weapon we use least! Today, pray for someone, pray for a situation and pray for the shalom of the LORD!

Nothing really ever gets done when we focus on the world and its mocking towards us, but when we focus on the LORD, things get done, we succeed!

“So we kept building the wall, which was soon joined together and completed to half its height all the way around; because the people worked with a will.”
Nehemiah 3:38 CJB (4:6 NKJB)

We really need to be focusing on the LORD and seeking His will and doing it! As the world mocks us, let it drive us to go farther in the LORD!

“Serve Adonai with gladness. Enter His presence with joyful songs.”
Psalm 100:2 CJB

Today, don’t focus on the world and its trappings, but instead, focus on the LORD and His will! Instead just keep moving ahead in Jesus!
