God is with us!

“They received help against them, so that the Hagri’im and all who were allied with them suffered defeat at their hands; because they cried out to God while they were fighting, and He did as they requested, because they put their trust in Him.”
1 Chronicles 5:20 CJB

Everyday we go out the door we go into battle. As we go out we need to be calling on God!

“I call on Adonai, who is worthy of praise; and I am saved from my enemies.”
Psalm 18:4 CJB

Know this: we can’t go out the door until we call on Adonai! We need Him to cover and protect us in all the battles of life!

“He said, Listen, all Y’hudah (Judah), you who live in Jerusalem and King Y’hoshafat (Jehoshaphat): here is what Adonai is saying to you: Don’t be afraid or distressed by this great horde; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
2 Chronicles 20:15 CJB

Today, know as we walk out the door and go into battle, it’s not ours but Adonai’s! Remember we are on His team and we walk in His victory. We don’t need to try to fight the battles of life on our own!
Have a blessed day in Adonai!
Shabbat Shalom!

Proclaim His name

“Yabetz (Jabez) was honored more than his brothers; his mother called him Yabetz, she explained, because I bore him in pain [Hebrew:`otzev].”
1 Chronicles 4:9 CJB

As we go through 1 Chronicles we read these genealogies and see just a list of names for the most part till we get to Jabez! His name means sorrow, don’t really know why he is named that. Maybe his mom had severe labor pain or he has a physical deformity, we just don’t know! What we do know is he is a man wanting to serve God!

“Ya`betz called on the God of Israel: Please bless me by enlarging my territory. May your hand be with me! Keep me from harm, so that it will not cause me pain [Hebrew: atzbi]. God granted his request.”
1 Chronicles 4:10 CJB

I believe the reason God grants these things is because Jabez was praying inside the will of God and that he was going to use these blessings to glorify God!

“Proclaim with me the greatness of Adonai; let us exalt His name together.”
Psalm 34:3 CJB

Today, let’s use what Adonai has given us to expand His boundaries and exalt His name in the world around us!
Have a blessed day in Him!

Sin has a price

“There in Rivah, in the land of Hamat, the king of Bavel had them put to death. Thus Y’hudah was carried away captive out of his land.”
2 Kings 25:21 CJB

This is the ultimate curse, being carried away captive, taken from your home and enslaved in a foreign land! God warned them and us about being disobedient!

“You I will disperse among the nations, and I will draw out among the sword in pursuit after you; your land will be a desolation and your cities a wasteland.”
Leviticus 26:33 CJB

Not to sound depressing, but the more disobedient the world gets the larger the consequences will be! The only hope is Yeshua (Jesus)!

“Put your hope in Adonai, be strong, and let your heart take courage! Yes, put your hope in Adonai!”
Psalm 27:14 CJB

Today, as ugly as the world around us gets, the more we need to be thankful for the salvation we have in Yeshua (Jesus)! He really is all we need and who we need to put all our hope in!
Have a blessed day in Adonai!

Walk in His ways

“He did what was evil from the perspective of Adonai, following the example of everything Y’hoyakim (Jehoiakim) had done.”
2 Kings 24:19 CJB

Here we see most of the kings of Judah and Israel followed the bad kings, doing all kinds of evil! What they didn’t seem to get was following evil always leads you into captivity!

“Don’t follow the path of the wicked or walk on the way of evildoers.”
Proverbs 4:14 CJB

The word of God is filled with warnings not to follow evil, but to walk in the ways of Adonai.

“Your word is a lamp for my foot and light on my path.”
Psalm 119:105

Today, let’s walk in the ways of Adonai and be blessed staying away from evil ways, which always lead to destruction!
May your day be richly blessed!

Don’t slack off

“He desecrated the Tofet fire pit in the Ben-Hinnom Valley, so that no one could cause his son or daughter to pass through fire [as a sacrifice] to Molekh.”
2 Kings 23:10 CJB

Here we see Josiah removing what is one of the most horrible things imaginable, the place for sacrificing children! God doesn’t let this sin go unpunished and we need to keep that in mind. As it seems our country continues in it!

“Adonai said, Just as I removed Israel, I will remove Y’hudah (Judah) out of My sight; and I will reject this city, which I chose, Jerusalem, and the house concerning which I said, My name will be there.”
2 Kings 23:27 CJB

This should be real sobering to us, because the world seems to have a love affair with the sacrificing of children! We as believers need to keep that in mind. As the world gets darker we need to shine brighter, knowing God is not slack concerning judgment!

“And you brothers who are doing what is good, don’t slack off!”
2 Thessalonians 3:13 CJB

Today, let’s realize that even though God’s judgment is coming, we need to be watching and praying in every situation to share the hope of salvation!
Have a blessed day in Adonai!
