Confess

“David said to Avyatar, “I knew it! That day, when Do’eg the Edomi was there, I knew he would tell Sha’ul. I caused the death of every person in your father’s family. “
1 Samuel 22:22 CJB

We see here David realizes and acknowledges his responsibility for when he lied to Ahimelech in the previous chapter, people died! Understand we all blow it from time to time. People might not die, but do get hurt! Do we take responsibility?

“He who conceals his sins will not succeed; he who confesses and abandons them will gain mercy.”
Proverbs 28:13 CJB

Sin really does kill, emotionally, relationships and occasionally physically! What do we do? Confessing and admitting brings liberation from the bondage of sin!

“When I acknowledged my sin to you, when I stopped concealing my guilt, and said, “I will confess my offenses to Adonai”; then you, you forgave the guilt of my sin.”
Psalm 32:5 CJB also 1 John 1:9

Be careful of getting caught up in trying to hide or cover sin! Why? Because it never works out! Instead confess, repent and watch God forgive and forget, so you can be liberated and move on!
Have a blessed day in Yeshua!

Be holy

“Akhish said to his servants, Here, you see that the man is meshugga (crazy); why bring him to me?”
1 Samuel 21:15 CJB

This is how the world looks at believers, meshugga (crazy)!
Why? Because we don’t fit in with the normal world, at least we shouldn’t!

“Because you are a people set apart as holy for Adonai your God. Adonai your God has chosen you to be his own unique treasure out of all the peoples on the face of the earth.”
Deuteronomy 14:2 CJB

God has chosen us out of the world to be His special and holy people! To the world that looks crazy!

“On the contrary, following the Holy One who called you, become holy yourselves in your entire way of life; since the Tanakh says, You are to be holy because I am holy.”
1 Peter 1:15-16 CJB

God isn’t saying be holy like some abnormal over pious person! He’s asking us to be holy (not ordinary) like the rest of the unbelieving world!
He wants us to be special set apart for Him to glorify Him!
Have a blessed day!
Shabbat Shalom!

Cleanse us Lord

“Y’honatan answered Saul his father, Why should he be put to death? What has he done?”
1 Samuel 20:32 CJB

Jealousy and envy always turn to anger and anger makes people become unreasonable and full of rage! Just look at all the political discourse happening today!

“For anger kills the fool, and envy slays the silly.”
Job 5:2 CJB

Understand anger and jealousy kill! We all need to be careful of anger, envy and jealousy, because they destroy friends and families!

“You who don’t direct your lives, understand caution; as for you, you fools, get some common sense!”
Proverbs 8:5 CJB

This is a position we should all take – simply admit we are not as adequate as we think we are! We are all sinners in need of Yeshua, who saves us, forgives us and forgets our confessed sin! The biggest sin we can have is the emotions in our mind, that lead us to all kinds of sinful actions!

“Wash me completely from my guilt, and cleanse me from my sin.”
Psalm 51:4 CJB

Let’s make our New Year prayer for Adonai to not only forgive our sins, but to cleanse our minds from any kind of sinful thoughts!
Have a blessed day!
Shabbat Shalom!

Stick by what you say

“Saul heeded Yhonatan’s advice and swore, As Adonai lives, he will not be put to death.”
1 Samuel 19:6 CJB

As evil as Saul is, he made pledges and resolutions not to kill David, but never kept them, but instead continued to try and kill David! We need to be careful of making resolutions and pledges also!

“Just let your ‘Yes’ be a simple ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ a simple ‘No’; anything more than this has its origin in evil.”
Matthew 5:37 CJB

What ever we say we are going to do or not do, we should really work hard at keeping! “Let your ‘no’ and ‘yes’ both be righteous.”

“Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from deceiving talk.”
Psalm 34:13 CJB

On this New Years Day let’s be careful of the words we use and the promises we make!
Have a blessed New Year!

“Shanah Tova!”

Don’t be jealous

“When Saul saw how very successful he was, he became afraid of him.”
1 Samuel 18:15 CJB

This is sad! Instead of celebrating the success of David, Saul becomes afraid and jealous!

“A tranquil mind gives health to the body, but envy rots the bones.”
Proverbs 14:30 CJB

Envy is wanting more than we already have or need! Saul was king and David was being successful for the king, the country and especially for Adonai! Saul’s problem was he wanted the glory and the credit! Realize all credit belongs to Adonai!

“Give Adonai His due, you who are godly; give Adonai His due of glory and strength; give Adonai the glory due His name; worship Adonai in holy splendor.”
Psalm 29:1-2 CJB

We all need to be totally submitted to God giving Him all credit and glory!
Have a blessed day celebrating the greatness of God!
Also look forward to what He will do in the New Year!
