Be alert

“I’ll fall on him unexpectedly when he’s tired and powerless. I’ll frighten him, all the people with him will flee, and I’ll attack only the king.”
2 Samuel 17:2 CJB

This is what evil does! It keeps attacking until you’re worn out and give up then they will overwhelm you! Remember it’s just a bunch noise!

“Like a roaring lion or a bear prowling for food is a wicked ruler over a poor people.”
Proverbs 28:15 CJB

This is how the enemy works! It keeps attacking to wear you out and take you down! What do we do? Look to Yeshua!

“Stay sober, stay alert! Your enemy, the Adversary, stalks about like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
1 Peter 5:8 CJB

The idea here is to be on guard keep watching and praying, knowing the enemy is out there ready to pounce on you! The good news is Yeshua has us covered, but we still need to be on guard, so stay alert!
Shabbat Shalom!

Listen

“The king said, Do you sons of Tz’ruyah and I have anything in common? Let him curse. If Adonai tells him, ‘Curse David,’ who has the right to ask, ‘Why are you doing it?'”
2 Samuel 16:10 CJB

What a change in David! in 1 Samuel 25 he wanted to go and kill Nabal in 2 Samuel 12 he wanted to kill the rich man, but here years later he shows restraint, patience and even understanding! Something people should try doing in the days we live in! We all should learn to hold our tongues and keyboards!

“When words are many, sin is not lacking; so he who controls his speech is wise.”
Proverbs 10:19 CJB

We all can learn to listen more and speak less! The problem we see today is there is to much talking and no one’s listening!

“For we all stumble in many ways; if someone does not stumble in what he says, he is a mature (or perfect) man who can bridle his whole body.”
James 3:2 CJB

The truth is we all stumble and fumble in what we say and do! We have opinions on situations, but we all need to watch what we say! We all need to think and pray before we speak and do!
May your day be richly blessed!

Don’t act out

“Messenger came to David saying, The men of Israel have aligned themselves with Avshalom.”
2 Samuel 15:13 CJB

This is how people usurp people with power and authority by slowly turning the people against leadership! How? By questioning and challenging everything!

“Everyone is to obey the governing authorities. For there is no authority that is not from God, and the existing authorities have been placed where they are by God.”
Romans 13:1 CJB

As believers in Yeshua, we need to be careful of the Avshaloms of the world who question and usurp authority at every chance they get! Remember who God allowed to rule in past Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, Nero, and Hitler to name a few, so when we complain and protest about things happening, we really need to be prayerful and careful!

“Kefa and the other emissaries answered, We must obey God, not men.”
Acts 5:29 CJB

The best thing we can do is call on Adonai for everything before we act out and do!
Have a blessed day!

Choices have consequences

“The king said to Yo’av, All right, I am granting this request. Go, and bring back young Avshalom.”
2 Samuel 14:21 CJB

David really made mistakes with Avshalom. One, as a Dad, he should have spent more time with him, but also he should have been held accountable for the murder of Amnon! When we blow it God is gracious and forgives, but the choices we make have consequences!

“For what one earns from sin is death; but eternal life is what one receives as a free gift from God, in union with Messiah Yeshua, our LORD.”
Romans 6:23 CJB

Understand what we reap is what we sow! All our actions have consequences! So what do we do? Pray before we speak and do!

“My eyes are always directed toward Adonai, for He will free my feet from the net.”
Psalm 25:15 CJB

Adonai has freed us from sin, so don’t get caught up in its nets, but instead seek Adonai and pray for understanding and direction! Remember decisions have consequences!
Have a blessed day seeking Adonai!

Share peace

“As for Avshalom, he refused to say a word to Amnon, either good or bad; for Avshalom hated Amnon for having raped his sister Tamar.”
2 Samuel 13:22 CJB

Honestly this is where Avshalom, should have left it there and moved on! But this is how hatred and sin works. It just keeps producing more anger and more hatred towards one another! Hate never produces anything good! But in Yeshua we will always have peace and love!

“What I am leaving with you is Shalom-I am giving you my Shalom, I don’t give the way the world gives. Don’t let yourselves be upset or frightened.”
John 14:22 CJB

Where do we find good? In Yeshua! Peace, love and good will always be found in Yeshua not in the world!

“For the sake of my family and friends, I say, Shalom be within you!”
Psalm 122:8 CJB

If you don’t have SHALOM (peace) in your life, it is because you hold on to bitterness and resentment instead of forgiveness and kindness!
So let’s share about Yeshua who is the prince of peace!
