Spend time with God

“Then all the people went to the house of Ba’al and broke it down; they smashed altars and images and killed Mattan the priest of Ba’al in front of altars.”
2 Chronicles 23:17 CJB

Are we willing to smash the pagan altars we have in our own lives? You may say I don’t have any pagan altars, but where do you spend your time? The average person spends over two hours on social media per day! Do we spend that much time with Adonai?

“If it seems bad to you to serve Adonai, then choose today whom you are going to serve! Will it be the gods your ancestors served beyond the River? Or the gods of Emori, in whose land you are living? As for me and my household, we will serve Adonai!”
Joshua 24:15 CJB

This is a great question for all of us to ask: are we serving Adonai and spending time with Him?

“Serve Adonai with gladness. Enter His presence with joyful songs.”
Psalm 100:2 CJB

The best way to serve Adonai, is by spending time with Him! The more time with Him, the less time we will be on social media!
Have a blessed day serving Adonai!

Look to the light

“Achazyah was forty-two years old when he began his reign, and he ruled for one year in Yerushalayim. His mother’s name was ‘Atalyahu the daughter of `Omri.”
2 Chronicles 22:2 CJB

Atalyahu, is the daughter of Ahav and Jezebel and was as wicked as they were! The point here is that many leaders then and now are evil and wicked, we just need to be on guard and watching the times we are living in!

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who change darkness into light and light into darkness, who change bitter into sweet and sweet into bitter!”
Isaiah 5:20 CJB

What’s this tell us? We need to be careful of what we put our hope in, we need to simply trust Adonai and not be deceived by the wickedness around us!

“For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.”
Psalm 36:9 CJB

Let’s look to Adonai for all our things and not to the world! Don’t be deceived by darkness, but instead let’s look to His glorious light!
Have a blessed day walking in His light!

Walk with God

“He lived after the example of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ach’av; because he had married Ach’av’s daughter; he did what was evil from Adonai’s perspective.”
2 Chronicles 21:6 CJB

God doesn’t bless mixed unions, we are either all in for God or for the world! We see here Y’horam (Jehoram) not only did what was wrong, he married the daughter of Ahab, probably one of the most evil kings of Israel and practiced his wicked ways! We need to choose God’s ways or the world!

“Eliyahu stepped forward before all the people and said, How long are you going to jump back and forth between two positions? If Adonai is God, follow Him; but if it’s Ba`al, follow him! The people answered him not a word.”
1 Kings 18:21 CJB

This is often where people are just faltering between following God or the world! What do we trust?

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we praise the name of Adonai our God.”
Psalm 20:7 CJB

What do you trust in? Is it the world’s resources or is it Adonai? Let’s choose Adonai today, He will never leave you or let you down!
Have a blessed day following Adonai!

Trust God

“Our God! Won’t You execute judgment against them? For we haven’t strength enough to defeat this huge horde coming against us, and we don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”
2 Chronicles 20:12 CJB

Here we see Jehoshaphat admitting that the enemy is going to overwhelm him and the people, but instead of panicking, he completely submits and trusts that God will see them through!

“My help comes from Adonai, the maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip-your guardian is not asleep.”
Psalm 121:2-3 CJB

Yes all our help comes from Adonai! But do we submit and trust Him? Remember He comes through every time!

“Don’t put your trust in princes or in mortals, who cannot help.”
Psalm 146:3 CJB

Don’t put your trust in any human or even yourself, remember all things will return to dust! But God and His ways will last forever!
Have a blessed day putting all your hope in God!
