Shabbat Shalom

“He went in therefore, shut the door behind the two of them, and prayed to the LORD.” 2 Kings 4:33

As we see in this chapter, which is true for us today we focus on the problem and not the LORD (the solution for everything). Their going to take my sons away, my son is dead and the food is ruined! We do the same our home is being taken, my health is bad or we can’t put food on the table!

“I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.” 2 Samuel 22:4

Yes life is full of all kinds of trials and problems (enemies) what they do is give us opportunity to be like Elisha, shut the door and be alone in prayer with the LORD! I believe the LORD allows problems in our lives, so we can exercise our faith!

“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.” Psalm 50:15

Realize today that the LORD has everything worked out! We really need to call upon Him and trust no matter your situation, He is the solution! Have a blessed day glorifying the LORD knowing He is going to deliver you!

“Now it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, Abraham! And he said, Here I am.” Genesis 22:1

We are all called by the LORD to step out and when we step out for Him we will be tested! Don’t find it strange as you’re walking with the LORD and you get hit with a trial or test!

“Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you.” 1 Peter 4:12

Know this today, you are saved and belong to the LORD, He will allow tests and trials to happen so we can grow in Him and have our faith strengthened! The next verse in this account of Abraham and Isaac says “Go to the land of Moriah” The Hebrew meaning of Moriah or Mori -Yah is (God is my teacher or guide)! So while we are in the trial or test realize God is teaching us and guiding us through it!

“Thus says Adonai, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am Adonai, your God, who teaches you for your own good, who guides you on the path you should take.” Isaiah 48:17 CJB

As you walk through the day, Realize the ups and downs we face are allowed by the LORD to teach us and guide us in the way we should go! No matter the trial we face He is right there with us! Our Mori – Yah (God is our teacher and guide). Have a blessed day knowing the LORD is walking you through it!

“For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time which God had spoken to him.” Genesis 21:2

Everything that happens in life happens on the appointed time of the LORD! He knows where, when and why; its up to us to search Him out! No matter what is going on around us look to see where the LORD is!

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10

Often times we start to get busy trying to figure things out, when all we have to do is be still! Listen and wait the LORD will guide and direct!

“But the LORD is in His holy temple. Let all the earth keep silence before Him.” Habakkuk 2:20

Remember all things happen at the set time of the LORD! His set time healing, vision and direction! Don’t get so busy that we forget just to be still and wait upon the LORD! Have a blessed day in Him!

“But indeed she is truly my sister. She is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife.” Genesis 20:12

Here we see Abraham say Sarah is his sister and Abimelech takes her, only to find out she’s Abrahams wife! The warning here for us is we need to be careful of half truths and compromising our beliefs! Satan is a master at distorting the word of God and trying to have us buy into false claims!

“For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Genesis 3:5

We see examples all through scripture on the LORD putting a choice in front of us and Satan distorting it!

“Choose who you will serve today. But as for me and my house we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15

“And Elijah came to the people, and said How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” 1 Kings 18:21

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24

Today we will have all kinds of choices to make; what time to leave, what to say, what to eat and what to believe naming a few of the hundred’s of choices we have to make! We need to remember and be reminded that we belong to the LORD, and He will always be our best choice!

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9

So as the day goes forth, let us make choices for the LORD, to serve Him, glorify Him and reflect Him! We are called to be His light and not to be part of the darkness of the world! Have a blessed day walking in His light!

“And they called to Lot and said to him, Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.” Genesis 19:5

The big question I see here is; How did we get to this? How is it that these men would want to molest these strangers at Lot’s house? The answer is quit simple, when we slowly allow the world to enter our homes, and start justifying its presents.

“Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.”

1 Thessalonians 5:20 – 21

We need to be people who study our bibles, test and check what we are doing with the word of God and stay away from things that the word of God calls evil! Always knowing that our LORD is faithful to forgive us when we fail!

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1

Today let us be checking the word to be sure what we are doing is of the LORD! That way we don’t wake up and ask how did I get here! Have a blessed day knowing that our LORD is always faithful and just to forgive, have a blessed day!
