Can’t dance in two weddings!

“And Elijah came to all the people, and said, How long will you falter between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him. But the people answered him not a word.”

1 Kings 18:21

Often times this is where we can be, faltering between two opinions. As believers we can get caught up between being godly or worldly, we can’t ride the fence!

“If it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Joshua 24:15

We can’t play so to speak on both sides of the fence! We can’t be worldly and godly at the same time! A old Hebrew saying: ‘We can’t dance in two weddings.’ So don’t try it!

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”

Matthew 6:24

Realize that the LORD wants us to be totally sold out for Him! Today no matter what comes up choose to walk with the LORD, and have a blessed day! Shabbat Shalom.

Do what the LORD says!

“And He said: Behold, I make a covenant. Before all your people I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all people among whom you are shall see the work of the LORD. For it is an awesome thing that I will do with you.”

Exodus 34:10

What the LORD is saying, that if we just do what He says people will notice and see how awesome the LORD is! You may get rejected by some, but that’s ok we don’t want to fit in with the world, we just want to be a light!

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

1 Peter 2:9

We are called His special people throughout scripture, we are also called to do what He says! Don’t waste your time trying to get out of doing what the LORD tells you, doing things His way is always better!

“If you love Me, keep My commandments.”

John 14:15

Today let us just love the LORD, do what He says and be a shinning light in the world around us! Have a blessed day!

Elevate the LORD, not the world!

“And He said, My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Exodus 33:14

So glad that the Presence of the LORD is always with us! No matter what we maybe going through the LORD is always right there with you!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

This should be comforting to us that no matter where we go or what we do the LORD is right there with us! So as you go through the day know the LORD is with you and is also going before you.

“I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.”

Psalm 16:8

Elevate the LORD today and follow hard after Jesus, have a blessed day resting in His presence!

Wait on the LORD!

“Now when the people saw Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

Exodus 32:1

We can fall into this trap too, The LORD isn’t working fast enough or that is just the old way of doing things! We need to be careful of that mindset because it usually turns out to be a disaster!

“For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O son of Jacob.”

Malachi 3:6

Be careful of trying to do your own thing, wait on the LORD, be patient and know the LORD is working it out! When we are impatient we start to build our own false idols to dance around.

“Blessed is every one who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways.” Psalm 128:1

No matter what your going through, waiting on the LORD is always going to be the best thing to do! We live in a world that is fast paced, I want it all and I want it know mentality! We just need to remember the LORD’s timing is always going to be better! So stick to the road map that the LORD has given us His word!

“I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.” Psalm 40:1

Have a blessed day waiting on the LORD!

Take a break!

“Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.”

Exodus 31:15

The LORD who made us knows us and also knows what we need. The fact is we live in a high paced society we work seven days a week never really taking a break! When folks go back to work on Monday, they are usually still tired and not rested. WHY? Because they never took a break, in essence they are killing themselves, burning out and we don’t need to be!

“Yes I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” Habakkuk 3:18

If your feeling tired, burnt out or just weary life is wearing you down. Then take a break shut it all off and spend a day with the LORD! Honestly what do you have to lose, besides nothing!

“It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.”

Exodus 31:17

Understand God doesn’t need a break, we do! The LORD wants us to be rested and refreshed in Him. So if you feel pressed, stressed and depressed then rest in the LORD! Take a day shut off the world and rest in the LORD rejoice in His salvation! Have a blessed day! Shavua Tov (Have a good week)
