We see in chapter 12 all the kings that we defeated by Joshua, but there was still more work to do! Even though God does all the heavy lifting we still need to do our part and step out and do what God guides us to do!

“Guide me in Your truth, and teach me; for you are the God who saves me, my hope is in you all day long.”
Psalm 25:5 CJB

This verse should be our prayer every day! Guide me, teach me, and may my hope be in You! So step out and take what Adonai has given!

“Your word is a lamp for my foot and a light on my path.”
Psalm 119:105 CJB

Don’t be afraid to to step out and do what Adonai calls us to do! Remember He has done all the heavy lifting!

If we want rest then do what God calls us to do! The problem we all have is we think we have to go to war in every situation! The answer is we just have to rest in Adonai, knowing the battle belongs to Him!

“He said, Listen, all Y’hudah, you who live in Yerushalayim and King Y’hoshafat: here is what Adonai is saying to you: Don’t be afraid or distressed by this great horde; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”
2 Chronicles 20:15 CJB

Just like Judah is being told by God, even though you see this great army coming against you, don’t worry or fear, because the battle belongs to Adonai!

“Victory comes from Adonai; may your blessing rest on your people.”
Psalm 3:8 CJB

So no matter what battle you may be going through, simply just rest in Adonai, doing what He says!

“Adonai said to Y’hoshua, Don’t be afraid of them, for I have handed them over to you; not one of their men will stand against you.”
Joshua 10:8 CJB

Understand when we stand with Adonai, nothing that comes against us will win! No matter who gets elected, disease or financial down fall that might happen! Remember if we are on the side of Adonai we will be victorious! So be brave!

“They will fight against you, but they will not overcome you, for I am with you, says Adonai, to rescue you.”
Jeremiah 1:19 CJB

There will always be battles in life. We all have difficulties at one time or another, we just need to remember that Adonai is right beside us and also goes before us!

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you; don’t be distressed, for I am your God. I give you strength, I give you help, I support you with My victorious right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10 CJB

So with all the events happening in the world around us whether they are personal, locally, nationally or globally, know that Adonai is right there with us and in total control of every situation!
So be encouraged in Yeshua, that He will get you through!

“However, the leaders replied to the whole community, We have sworn to them by Adonai, the God of Israel; so we can’t touch them.”
Joshua 9:19 CJB

Like the children of Israel, we need to be careful of making promises without knowing all the facts!

“Just let your ‘Yes’ be a simple ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No’ a simple ‘No’;
anything more than this has its origin in evil.”
Matthew 5:37 CJB

Again we must be careful in what we promise and what we say!

“If you choose not to make a vow at all, that will not be a sin for you; but if a vow passes your lips, you must take care to perform it according to what you voluntarily vowed to Adonai your God, what you promised in words spoken aloud.”
Deuteronomy 23:23-24 CJB

In other words, we must keep our promises, making good on what we say we’ll do! So be careful on what we say and promise!

As we saw in the end of chapter seven, Joshua and the children of Israel made things right with Adonai by correcting all their errors, by repenting! Then God kept His promises and gave them victory! How do we achieve victory? by keeping His Word and walking in His ways!

“I treasure Your Word in my heart, so that I won’t sin against you.”
Psalm 119:11 CJB

We need to seek and find direction in the Word of God, which gives us perfect direction!

“I will find my delight in your regulations. I will not forget Your Word.”
Psalm 119:16 CJB

What an amazing blessing it is to be able to search the Word of God and do what it says! When we do, we will always see and experience His blessings!
